Job summary

Intervention Inc. in Lakewood, CO, is seeking a Building Technician II to maintain the facility and ensure safety and compliance. The role covers routine and emergency maintenance of buildings, grounds, and equipment, with inventory management and vendor coordination as needed.

This is a full-time, day-shift position with a starting pay of $27 hourly. Average duties include reporting to the Program Director, ensuring cleanliness, and supporting a secure site for clients and staff.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent and two years related maintenance experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of maintenance techniques for a commercial or residential facility.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to remain calm and de-escalate stressful situations.
  • Must pass background check and have Colorado Driver’s License and proof of insurance.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain facility and property in clean, safe condition and in compliance with codes.
  • Perform routine and emergency maintenance, repairs and upkeep of buildings, grounds, and equipment.
  • Attend required trainings and meetings; report status and progress.
  • Drive personal car to court, jail and other sites as required.
  • Maintain inventory of repair equipment and supplies.

Title: Building Technician II

Location: Lakewood, CO

Starting Pay: $27 hourly

Hours: M-F day shift (full-time)

OVERVIEW

Ensure the facility and property is maintained in a clean, orderly and safe condition, and is in compliance with applicable zoning, building, fire and health codes. Performs routine and emergency maintenance, repairs, and upkeep of buildings, grounds, and equipment to ensure safety and efficient operation.

  • Any other tasks or duties as assigned.

  • Participate effectively as a team member through communication, cooperation, information sharing and problem solving.

  • Good steward of Company human, financial and capital resources.

  • Regular and predictable attendance.

  • Attend required trainings and meetings, apply skills and knowledge.

  • Drive personal car to court, jail and/or other sites as required, including in adverse weather.

  • Respond quickly in the event of an emergency, notify appropriate personnel and follow safety protocol.

  • Maintain current and accurate inventory of repair equipment and supplies.

  • Drives personal car to pick up supplies as needed.

  • Keep Program Director up-to-date on status of facility and grounds by reporting at least monthly on the facility’s condition, and status of current, completed and future projects and work orders.

  • Stock supplies daily or as needed in all utility closets and order supplies as necessary.

  • Ensure overall cleanliness and safety of the facility at all times.

  • Schedule, coordinate and record monthly fire drills.

  • As directed, contact vendors, obtain bids and coordinate contracted work.

  • Routinely check equipment, machinery, and building systems (electrical, plumbing, HVAC) to identify potential issues and perform preventative maintenance like cleaning, lubrication, and part replacement

  • Correct minor and routine mechanical, electrical, plumbing, maintenance and painting issues in buildings and equipment, using various tools and diagnostic equipment to ensure safety

  • Maintain accurate logs and documentation of work performed

  • At least monthly, conduct an inspection of the facility and property to assess current and future needs and to ensure compliance with local and state codes.

  • Respond to and complete work orders, which can be routine tasks or emergency requests.

  • Inspects facility for reported and unreported maintenance issue. Record findings and prioritize corrections.

  • Carry out all duties/responsibilities in accordance with Company values, policies and procedures, applicable laws and contractual obligations.

  • Maintain confidentiality of client and company information.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, sit, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or equivalent credential; and two years related experience and/or training in general maintenance

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Demonstrated knowledge of general maintenance techniques and standards for a commercial or residential facility.

  • Computer skills -- Ability to enter data, generate reports and create basic communications from variety of software programs and databases

  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing

  • Ability to remain calm in and de-escalate stressful situations

  • Knowledge of the cultural and socioeconomic characteristics and appropriate techniques and practices for the client population.

  • Ability to interact effectively as a team member and independently with Company staff, stakeholders, and with diverse client base.

  • Must pass background check and have ability to access state criminal databases
