Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Perform reactive and planned maintenance on machinery and facility equipment.
  • Conduct simple welding tasks and procure needed supplies.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot machine failures; collaborate with planner/scheduler.
  • Wire, build, and troubleshoot electrical panels and equipment to NFPA/NEC standards.
  • Maintain grounds and building exterior; perform routine electrical, mechanical, carpentry, and HVAC repairs.
  • Assist lower-level technicians and leadership in training and development.
  • Set up and operate machining tools (lathe, drill press, grinder) to manufacture parts.
  • Troubleshoot 480V components including drives and PLC systems; knowledge of major controllers is a plus.

Maintenance Technician II (Job Code ENM009) – Ennis, TX

Position Summary

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, and reconditioning machinery and facility equipment. This role works from diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturer specifications to diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical issues. The technician independently identifies issues, implements solutions, and ensures equipment and facility systems operate safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities
  • Perform self‑directed reactive and planned maintenance, including observing devices, dismantling to access defective parts, examining parts for defects, adjusting functional parts, repairing or replacing defective parts, and testing devices for performance.
  • Conduct simple welding tasks and order supplies and repair items as necessary.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot machine failures, proactively championing projects and working closely with planner/scheduler.
  • Lay out, wire, build, and troubleshoot electrical panels and machinery to NFPA/NEC standards.
  • Maintain the grounds and building exterior, performing routine electrical, mechanical, carpentry, and HVAC repairs.
  • Assist lower‑level technicians and leadership to small teams, performing advanced functions as part of training and development.
  • Set up and operate multiple machining operations, including lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts.
  • Troubleshoot 480 components including drives and PLC software; BMC and Allen Bradley knowledge is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Omron, Barber Coleman, ABB, Reliance, and Yaskawa controllers.
  • Repair and install A/C and D/C drives, including conversions.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to read blueprints.
  • Ability to use measuring instruments and perform basic failure analysis.
  • Understanding of electronic components to troubleshoot and repair.
  • Proficiency with hand and power tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Basic arithmetic skills, including calculation of ratios, percentages, and interpretation of bar graphs.
  • Experience in an industrial electrician/maintenance role or extrusion manufacturing environment (5 years preferred).
Work Environment

Manufacturing plant environment with moving machinery and noise. Employees must wear issued personal protective equipment. Temperature ranges from extreme cold to extreme heat. Physical demands include standing, walking, sitting, carrying, climbing, pushing/pulling, bending, reaching, kneeling, squatting, crawling, and manipulating tools.
