Job summary

UniFirst seeks a reliable Maintenance Tech I to join our team. You will perform repairs, maintenance, installation and troubleshooting of industrial equipment, systems, and components in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Two-year technical degree preferred.
  • Must pass UniFirst maintenance knowledge assessment test.
  • Ability to read blueprints and schematics.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize hand/power tools and precision measuring devices to service equipment.
  • Ensure safe operation of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Follow blueprints, schematics, manuals and engineering specifications during maintenance tasks.
  • Troubleshoot equipment problems using testing instruments and observation.
  • Perform boiler chemical and wastewater pre-treatment testing and adjust chemicals as needed.
  • Conduct daily/weekly safety checks on boilers and address issues promptly.
  • Record meter readings and take corrective actions for utilities as needed.
  • Inspect belts, motors, and bearings; replace worn parts following procedures and manuals.
  • Use a Computerized Maintenance Management System for work orders and documentation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
