Rise Baking Company in Dallas, TX is seeking a Maintenance Technician to uphold the integrity of production equipment and the plant facility in line with company standards.

The role focuses on preventative and corrective maintenance of PLC systems, electrical controls, and conveyance equipment across production, Boiler/Compressor rooms, and facility systems. Candidates should have hands-on electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical experience and be able to work across multiple shifts.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Two years or more technical schooling preferred.
  • Three years of related experience in a food or manufacturing environment.
  • Technical certifications a plus (Boilers, Electrical, etc).

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance on PLC systems.
  • Program or troubleshoot and repair PLC systems.
  • Install and maintain electrical equipment, controls, circuits, and PLC.
  • Maintain production equipment, HVAC, ingredient handling, and plumbing.
  • Start machines to test operation after repairs.
  • Record preventive maintenance tasks and work orders promptly.
  • Troubleshoot plant areas: Production, Compressor Room, Boiler Room.
  • Maintain pneumatics, air compressors, dryers, tools, grinders, welding equipment.
  • Complete work orders and respond to maintenance calls on the production floor.
  • Inventory spare parts and report usage; suggest re-orders.
  • Perform basic repairs in office facilities (furniture, lighting).
  • Maintain neat, orderly work area and proper tool storage.
  • Back-up for unloading bulk rail cars and trucks.
  • Install, repair, overhaul production equipment.
  • Perform sanitary welding on equipment and piping.
  • Troubleshoot and rebuild electro-mechanical assemblies.
  • Respond promptly to production-line calls.
  • Participate in facility and preventive maintenance programs.
  • Adhere to hazardous communication and MSDS requirements.
  • Support product safety, quality and legality; comply with GMPs.
  • Participate in TPM initiatives.
  • Follows all company policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job description

Job Responsibilities:
  • Perform preventative maintenance on PLC systems
  • Program or troubleshoot and perform repairs on PLC systems
  • Experience with PLC hardware and software platforms, such as Siemens, Allen-Bradley, or Schneider Electric.
  • Installs and maintains electrical equipment/controls, circuits, and PLC.
  • Performs preventative and repair maintenance on production equipment, heating and cooling systems, ingredient handling systems, and plumbing systems; also office and plant facilities.
  • Starts machines and equipment to test operation following repair.
  • Records preventative maintenance tasks and work orders in timely manner.
  • Troubleshoots various areas in the plant, including Production, Compressor Room, Boiler Room and grounds through regular inspection and test procedures.
  • Maintains safe and efficient use of pneumatics, air compressors, air dryer operation, small tools, grinders, and welding equipment in performance of duties.
  • Completes work orders and responds to maintenance calls on the Production Floor in timely manner.
  • Inventories spare parts and reports usage; suggests re-orders to Manager.
  • Performs basic repairs within office facility on furniture, lighting, paging system, etc.
  • Maintains neat and orderly work area; properly maintains tools.
  • Performing as back-up for unloading bulk rail cars and trucks.
  • Installing, maintaining, repairing, and overhauling production equipment.
  • Performing sanitary welding on equipment and food processing piping.
  • Troubleshoots, identifies worn parts & rebuilds machine assemblies, pumps, meters, valves, valve actuators and other equipment.
  • Responds in a timely manner to calls at the production lines.
  • Participation in facility maintenance and preventive maintenance programs.
  • Safe handling and use of various chemicals with strict adherence to hazardous communication and MSDS requirements.
  • Follows all safety procedures and participate in safety training. Maintain safe and efficient use of equipment, tools, and person. Reports any injury, accident or unsafe condition immediately to supervisor.
  • Supports product safety, quality and legality
  • Complies with GMPs.
  • Participates in TPM initiatives.
  • Follows all company policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned
Knowledge/Competencies:
  • Physical: The employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and sit. The employee is occasionally required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

  • Must be able to wear company-provided uniform.
