Job summary

Drury Hotels is hiring a Maintenance Tech I to maintain a safe, well-run hotel property in Meridian, MS. You will perform repairs across plumbing, electrical, HVAC and related systems, while developing safety programs and training junior staff.

The role emphasizes guest satisfaction, on-call readiness, and collaboration with management on staffing needs. The position requires strong maintenance skills, ability to work independently, and a commitment to exceptional guest experiences.

Qualifications

• Advanced maintenance knowledge across hotel systems.
• Ability to train Maintenance Tech I team members.
• Knowledge of water chemistry, testing, filtration and mechanical operations.
• Experience creating and monitoring safety/ergonomic/injury-prevention programs.
• Knowledge of building maintenance incl. minor electrical repair and plumbing.
• English language proficiency (speaking/writing).
• Willingness to be available for emergency repairs.

Responsibilities

• Complete repairs on plumbing, electrical, refrigeration, kitchen equipment, light carpentry, painting and HVAC systems.
• Develop, implement, and monitor programs to ensure a safe facility and work environment per regulations.
• Keep detailed records and reports.
• Provide ongoing training to Maintenance Tech I team members.
• Collaborate with management to recruit, interview, and schedule for department needs.
• Ensure an exceptional guest experience with courteous, friendly service.

What you will do:

Maintain safe and smooth-running physical hotel property and grounds.

Ensure exceptional, positive experiences for our diverse team members and guests.

• Complete repairs on a variety of systems such as plumbing, electrical, refrigeration, kitchen equipment, light carpentry, painting, and HVAC systems.

• Experience in developing, implementing, and monitoring programs to ensure work and safety compliance with ergonomic, emergency-response, and injury-prevention regulations

• Knowledge of building maintenance, including minor electrical repair, and plumbing

• Ability to speak, write, and receive direction (written and verbal direction) in English

• Flexibility to be available for emergency repairs
