Job summary

Boyd Company is seeking a maintenance technician to perform repairs on buildings and equipment across carpentry, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, heating and air conditioning systems. You will read manuals, order parts, and service a range of systems with little supervision.

You will lift components up to 50 pounds, operate material handling gear, and assist in remodeling projects while maintaining sprinkler systems and vendor contacts for complex fixes.

• Able to communicate with team members and customers.
• Good working knowledge of computer, spreadsheets and word processing programs.
• Ability to operate a PC (Windows, Excel, Word).

Responsibilities

• Performs maintenance and repairs on buildings and equipment related to carpentry, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, heating and air conditioning systems; requisition repair parts.
• Operates material handling equipment as required.
• Reads and comprehends technical data/service manuals related to equipment and systems, and write legibly.
• Lifts equipment components/parts up to 50 pounds to complete repairs.
• Receive and complete maintenance request forms from all departments daily; complete maintenance requests as soon as possible.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and PM Company owned equipment, systems, overhead cranes and Demag units.
• Provide plumbing, electrical, and carpentry services, including changing light bulbs.
• Assist in remodeling projects designated by Manager, Administrative Services.
• Maintain sprinkler systems and weekly and monthly sprinkler checks.
• Contact HVAC, electrical and roofing vendors when repairs are not feasible in-house.
• Assist in training of maintenance laborers and technicians.
• Maintain trade certifications in areas of expertise.
• Maintain discretion with confidential/sensitive information and exercise initiative; high integrity and accountability.
• All other duties as necessary and assigned.

Compensation: up to $2 8.05

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Performs necessary maintenance and repairs with little supervision to buildings and equipment related to carpentry, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, heating and air conditioning systems; requisition repair parts
• Operates material handling equipment as required
• Reads and comprehends technical data/service manuals related to equipment and systems, and write legibly
• Lifts equipment components/parts that weigh no more than 50 pounds to effectively complete repairs
• Receive and complete maintenance request forms from all departments daily. Complete maintenance requests as soon as possible. Turn in completed request forms
• Troubleshoot, repair, and PM Company owned equipment, systems, overhead cranes and Demag units
• Provide plumbing, electrical, and carpentry services, including changing light bulbs
• Assist the Company in remodeling projects designated by Manager, Administrative Services
• Maintain sprinkler systems and weekly and monthly sprinkler
• Contact HVAC, electrical and roofing vendors when it is not feasible or practical to make repairs to buildings and grounds with Company personnel
• Assist in training of maintenance laborers and maintenance technicians
• Maintain trade certifications in areas of expertise
• Maintain a high degree of discretion in handling confidential/sensitive information and exercise initiative in all assigned areas, High integrity and accountability standards
