Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; basic maintenance knowledge.
• 0-3 years in industrial maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs.
• Beginner proficiency in hydraulics, mechanics, electrical, welding and rigging.
• Commitment to continuous learning and safety compliance.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate and maintain Maintenance Tech I proficiency within 10 months.
• Assist with equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and routine inspections.
• Perform basic repairs and maintenance on mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Assist in managing machine performance and production changeovers.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns promptly; maintain records and reports.
• Follow safety standards to ensure production meets quality standards.
• Collaborate with production teams to improve reliability.
• Identify and report unsafe mechanical/electrical situations.
• Observe safety precautions to minimize hazards from chemicals, dust.
• Flexible schedule; occasional travel to nearby locations.

Principal Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Must be able to demonstrate/achieve and maintain Maintenance Tech I proficiency within 10 months of hire.
• Assist with maintaining equipment, troubleshooting issues, and performing routine inspections.
• Perform basic troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance on mechanical and electrical equipment.
• May assist in managing the machines’ performance by doing equipment set up and production changeovers.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns in a timely manner. Maintain work records and prepare clear and concise oral and written reports.
• Understand and follow all safety standards and quality protocols to ensure production exceeds the standards.
• Collaborate well with production associates to solve problems with reliability and urgency.
• Recognize and report unusual, inefficient, or dangerous mechanical and electrical situations.
• Utilize appropriate safety precautions, methods, and apparatus to minimize and withstand exposure to chemicals, dust, and mechanical and electrical hazards. Learn and observe all safety precautions as required by Perdue.
• Work all required work schedules. Day travel to nearby locations is sometimes required.

Minimum Education And Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent and equivalent experience.
• 0 - 3 Years experience in Industrial maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs on Mechanical and Electrical Equipment, and/or Equivalent Military Experience.
• Beginner proficiency in Hydraulics, Mechanics, Electrical, Welding and Rigging.
• Commitment to Continuous Learning to achieve increasing levels of expertise.
• Communicates effectively, both orally and in writing.

Preferred Education And Experience

• 2-year Technical Degree in Engineering or Industrial Maintenance.

Physical Requirements And Environmental Factors

• Sitting, standing, walking, climbing, kneeling, reaching overhead and/or at shoulder level, lifting (50 lbs.) and/or repetitive tasks throughout the day.
• Position requires occasional moving to other offices or buildings.
