Job summary

Glen Oaks Community College seeks a skilled Maintenance Technician to install, maintain, repair, and sometimes operate campus vehicles and a range of mechanical, electrical, and maintenance equipment. The role requires knowledge of HVAC, electrical circuits, and various trades, with duties spanning preventive maintenance, structural changes, snow removal, and grounds care.

The position reports to the Director of Buildings and Grounds and requires two years of relevant experience plus a valid

Qualifications

Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license without restrictions and a safe driving record.
Must demonstrate a general knowledge of heating and cooling systems.
Must demonstrate a safe working knowledge of 110, 208, 480 voltage, 3-phase power electric circuits.
Must demonstrate a practical knowledge of rough carpentry and finish carpentry.
Must demonstrate a general knowledge of brazing, cutting, and welding metal.
Two (2) years relevant work experience.

Responsibilities

Make correct adjustments and perform preventive or corrective maintenance on heating and cooling systems.
Perform safe preventive or corrective maintenance of electrical circuits, motor controls, etc.
Make structural changes as required.
Snow removal and mow campus grounds as required.
Other duties within the scope of this position as assigned by their supervisor.
