Job summary

National Church Residences in Madison, IN seeks a Maintenance Technician to keep Hope Community housing safe and functional. You will perform preventive and routine maintenance on plumbing, electrical, and safety systems and supervise junior staff while ensuring compliance.

This role requires a high school diploma, 2+ years in maintenance (senior housing a plus), valid driver’s license, and strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Qualifications

• 2+ years maintenance experience; senior housing a plus.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on plumbing, electrical, and safety systems.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of common areas and grounds.
• Ensure safety compliance and correct potential hazards.
• Supervise and train junior maintenance staff.
• Manage inventory and order supplies; document activities and report to leadership.

Location: Hope Community-40 units - 2020 Cragmont St. Madison, IN 47250 Schedule: 32 hours per week with full time benefits Monday-Friday-Day Shift- On Call Required.-Monthly Mobile Allowance

Job Summary The Maintenance Technician ensures senior housing facilities remain safe, functional, and visually appealing. Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, repairs, facility upkeep, and supervising junior staff, while ensuring compliance with all regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Perform routine and preventive maintenance on plumbing, electrical, and safety systems Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues Maintain cleanliness and safety of common areas and grounds Ensure safety compliance and correct potential hazards Supervise and train junior maintenance staff Manage inventory and order supplies Document maintenance activities and report to leadership

Qualifications

High school diploma required; vocational training preferred 2+ years of maintenance experience (senior housing a plus) Skilled in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems Strong problem-solving and communication skills Relevant certifications and valid driver’s license required Building maintenance experience required Ability to work flexible hours and be on emergency call rotation Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Work Environment

Work performed indoors and outdoors Occasional exposure to noise and hazardous materials Must be available for emergency on-call shifts as scheduled.
