Job summary

Compass Group USA, in collaboration with SSC Services for Education, is hiring a Maintenance Technician for a full-time position in Jerome, Idaho (ZIP 83338). The schedule runs Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, with potential overtime as needed.

A minimum of one year maintenance experience is preferred, and a valid driver's license is required. Pay ranges from $16.00 to $20.00 per hour, with comprehensive benefits and same-day pay options.

Responsibilities

• Assists in decisions on repairs and reports major problems to supervisor.
• Constructs, installs, maintains and repairs electrical and mechanical systems using tools.

• Supervises and leads a project team.
• Reads and transmits detailed instructions verbally and in writing.
• Teaches advanced maintenance skills to department staff.
• Reviews work of external vendors and creates punch lists.
• Maintains logs, completes work orders, tests and inspections.
• Analyzes and corrects complex building system problems, solo or in a team.

Job Summary

Summary:
Performs a variety of skilled maintenance duties related to facility engineering and maintenance functions, while providing field leadership, ensuring quality assurance, supporting training efforts, and managing escalations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Assists in making decisions on all normal and complex repairs; reports major problems to the maintenance supervisor and foreman.
• Constructs, finishes, installs, maintains and repairs electrical and mechanical systems, or the facilities of any related systems, using power and hand tools and other necessary equipment.
• Cleans, lubricates, services, repairs or diagnoses malfunction of HVAC, electrical and mechanical building systems, sterilizers, sprinkler and standpipe systems, transport systems, electronic signaling systems, fire alarm systems and similar specialty equipment items with appropriate training, certification skills and licensing requirements as needed.
• Supervises and leads a group of workers on a project.
• Reads, comprehends and transmits complicated detailed instructions verbally and in writing.
• Teaches advanced maintenance skills to other members of the department.
• Reviews work of outside vendors and licensed maintenance workers; makes punch lists.
• Reports on and repairs discrepancies as assigned.
• Analyzes and corrects complex building system problems, alone or as part of a team.
• Maintains logs, performs rounds and completes work orders, tests and inspections.
• Makes recommendations for modification or improvement of preventive maintenance systems.
• Serves as a member of facility emergency response team.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Must have one of the following

• Master license in one trade or two of the following Journeyman Electrical License or Registered ACR Technician with EPA certification in Refrigerant, or a Journeyman Plumber License, etc.
• Valid driver's license.
