Job summary

Ivy Park at Otay Ranch in San Juan Capistrano is seeking a Maintenance Technician responsible for the maintenance of our community’s physical plant, common areas, and resident units. You will ensure a safe and secure environment for all staff and residents while encouraging teamwork.

The ideal candidate will have experience in maintenance, a high school diploma, and a strong desire to work with the elderly. This role offers full-time hours and competitive pay with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Prefer six months of experience in the building industry or maintenance.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must pass a Criminal Background check and Health Screening tests.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the physical plant, common areas, and individual resident units.
• Encourage teamwork through cooperative interactions.
• Maintain grounds including pool and spa if applicable.

Skills

Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and HVAC

Ability to assist with apartment turnovers

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the maintenance of the physical plant, exterior, and interior common areas, and individual resident units in the community, in accordance with the company’s mission, vision, and values.

Responsibilities:

• Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and HVAC.
• Ability to assist with apartment turnovers – painting, carpet cleaning, pressure washing.
• Maintain grounds including pool and spa if applicable.
• Maintain a safe and secure environment for all staff, residents, and guests, following established safety standards.
• Encourage teamwork through cooperative interactions with co‑workers and other departments.

Qualifications:

• Prefer six (6) months of experience in the building industry, maintenance, and/or housekeeping handling the upkeep, repair, and maintenance of electrical, plumbing, and structural matters. Knowledge of building construction is helpful.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be able to operate MS Office programs (Word, Excel, etc.)
• Strong desire to work with the elderly and care for their needs.
• Possess written and verbal skills to interact and communicate effectively with employees, supervisors, physicians, healthcare professionals, residents, and their families.
• Must pass a Criminal Background check and Health Screening tests, including physical and TB Tests.
