Job summary

Indiana University Health System – Fort Wayne Hospital seeks an HVAC Technician to operate, install, troubleshoot and repair heating, cooling, ventilation and refrigeration equipment across facilities. You will inspect AHUs, freezers, laminar flow rooms and control systems, and lead maintenance projects when needed.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED, 2 years of HVAC experience in healthcare or industrial settings, and the ability to read blueprints and diagrams.

Qualifications

• Healthcare facility HVAC experience required.
• Industrial or commercial environment experience preferred.
• At least 2 years of relevant HVAC maintenance experience.

Hours: Monday-Friday 7a-3:30pm (Weekend and on call coverage will start in May 2027)

Job Summary

Operates, installs, troubleshoots and repairs all heating, cooling, ventilation, refrigeration related electromechanical equipment and HVAC related systems throughout various facilities. Inspects, troubleshoots and repairs HVAC electrical, electronics, pneumatics and mechanical applications of systems. Applies understanding of how to operate the following, but not limited to, air handling units (AHU's), freezers, walk-in refrigerators, special room air balancing (i.e. isolation systems and laminar flow systems), laminar flow systems motor controllers, HEPA filtering requirements, and electronic, HVAC/VAV boxes. Coordinates or leads project planning when necessary. Trains colleagues on various skills and tasks. Acts as a resource or mentor to colleagues and provides general leadership to the team. Performs other related duties as assigned.

• Requires general knowledge in the use of power and hand tools.
• Requires basic computer skills.
• Knowledge of applicable building codes related to healthcare preferred.
• Requires a minimum of 2 years relevant experience.
