Job summary

Software Placement Group seeks a skilled Maintenance Technician (Electro-Mechanical) for our Columbus, OH plant. You will perform daily and non-routine maintenance on electrical and mechanical equipment, troubleshoot issues, and support start-ups and new installations to keep production running smoothly.

The role requires hands-on experience with PLCs, electrical power concepts, and reading schematics. You will calibrate meters and controllers, test systems, perform welding, pipe fabrication,

Qualifications

  • Basic PLC programming knowledge and electrical power concepts.
  • Ability to read and apply electrical schematic drawings.
  • Experience calibrating meters and controllers.
  • Experience testing and repairing electrical systems and devices.
  • Ability to run conduit and pull wire safely.
  • Welding skills (TIG/MIG/Plasma) and basic machining tools.
  • Experience with pipe fabrication and layout on drawings.
  • Capability to troubleshoot mechanical equipment incl. pumps and gearboxes.
  • Familiarity with lubricants and greases.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily and non-routine maintenance on electrical and mechanical equipment.
  • Assist operators and mechanics with troubleshooting and operation.
  • Support project installations and equipment start-ups.
  • Read and interpret schematic drawings for electrical installations.
  • Calibrate drives and controllers and test related devices.
  • Repair electrical systems including motors, switches, solenoids.
  • Run conduit and pull wire as required.
  • Weld and machine using basic tools as needed.
  • Fabricate pipes and layout according to drawings.
  • Troubleshoot and repair pumps, seals, hydraulics, valves, and boilers.

Location: Columbus, OH | Schedule: Full-time, on-site

Overview

An established manufacturing operation is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician (Electro-Mechanic) to support daily and non-routine maintenance of plant equipment and facilities. This role is essential to keeping production running smoothly, combining hands‑on electrical and mechanical expertise to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain critical systems, while also supporting new project installations and equipment start‑ups.

What you'll do
  • Perform daily and non-routine maintenance on both electrical and mechanical plant equipment and systems
  • Assist equipment operators and mechanics with troubleshooting and operating plant equipment
  • Support project installations and equipment start‑ups throughout the plant as needed
  • Read and interpret schematic drawings to install electrical equipment accordingly
  • Calibrate drives and equipment such as meters, temperature controllers, level controllers, and Servo controllers
  • Test and repair electrical systems and devices including motors, switches, and solenoids
  • Run conduit and pull wire as required
  • Perform welding and operate TIG/MIG/Plasma cutters, grinders, drills, and basic machining equipment
  • Carry out pipe fabrication and layout according to drawings
  • Understand, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical equipment, including pumps, seals (including mechanical seals), hydraulic-operated machines, gearboxes, valves, air compressors, boilers, and associated support equipment
Required qualifications
  • Basic knowledge of PLC programming
  • Fundamental knowledge of electrical power concepts, including voltages and amps
  • Ability to read and apply schematic drawings for electrical installations
  • Experience calibrating meters, temperature controllers, level controllers, and Servo controllers
  • Experience testing and repairing electrical systems and devices such as motors, switches, and solenoids
  • Ability to run conduit and pull wire
  • Welding skills and experience operating TIG/MIG/Plasma cutters, grinders, drills, and basic machining tools
  • Experience with pipe fabrication and layout per drawings
  • Ability to understand and repair mechanical equipment including pumps, mechanical seals, hydraulic-operated machines, gearboxes, valves, air compressors, and boilers
  • Fundamental knowledge of lubricating oils and greases
