Job summary

Steffes is seeking a maintenance technician to perform maintenance and repair on plant equipment, including electrical systems, electronic controls, hydraulics, and mechanical components. You will diagnose issues and implement fixes, and maintain detailed repair records.

Responsibilities include TPM, reading schematics, and collaborating with customers, suppliers, co-workers, and management to uphold Steffes' standards of safety, quality and reliability in a fast-paced production environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in a related field
• Minimum of two years of experience in troubleshooting, repair, and servicing of equipment.
• Able to read electrical and hydraulic schematics.
• Good hearing and ability to see well (use of corrective hearing aids or lenses allowed)
• Basic computer knowledge (Windows, email, internet, etc.)
• Basic math skills
• Reading skills (Basic instructional and technical information)
• OR
• An acceptable combination of education and experience

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair equipment, to include electronic controls, motors, PLC, electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
• Complete Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) on applicable machines.
• Responsible for maintaining an inventory of service and repair parts.
• Maintains accurate and computerized records of services, repairs, and modifications on equipment.
• Design and install modifications or retrofits to enhance safety and efficiency of plant equipment, as needed.
• Able to operate various types of welding tools, hand tools, and power tools.
• Able to read and understand drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
• Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in collaborative manner with customers, suppliers, co-workers, and management.
• Helps company meet its Strategic, Quality and Safety objectives.
• Other duties may be assigned.
