Job summary

The Salvation Army in Cincinnati is seeking a Maintenance Technician/Custodian to perform daily maintenance and cleaning duties, respond to alarms, and help with grounds upkeep. The role includes apartment reconditioning and emergency responses under supervision of the Facilities Manager/Administrator.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent, be safety conscious, and capable of working independently and with residents, including elderly and disabled persons.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily work order requests for repairs in apartments and other maintenance repairs within the building/grounds.
  • Maintain trash compactor, clean unit and sweep/mop surrounding areas.
  • Maintain building by cleaning all areas within and outside the building: Vacuum, sweep, mop, clean restrooms, empty all trash on a daily basis.
  • Assist with Annual Unit Inspections and PTAC Filter Changes.
  • Pick up trash daily on the grounds and inside the dumpster areas; including the outside cans, and cigarette dispensers.
  • Maintain property by mowing and weed eating
  • Perform monthly sweeping/mopping of stairwells
  • Escort professional exterminator to scheduled units and common areas
  • Respond to all fire, medical and security alarms
  • Reconditioning of Unit when vacant (maintenance and cleaning)
  • Assist with evacuation of tenants when called upon and instructed by Emergency Staff
  • Follow daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly schedule for Maintenance and Custodial Duties
  • Other duties as assigned by Maintenance Facilities Manager or Administrator

Overview

Title: Maintenance Technician/Custodian Department: Catherine Booth Residence, L.P. Reports to: Maintenance Facilities Manager/ Administrator Supervises: NIA Status: Full Time/Non-Exempt Schedule: M-F (40 Hours Per Week) Function: The primary responsibility of the Maintenance Technician/Custodian is to perform daily work order repairs, preventative maintenance tasks, regular maintenance tasks, in addition to the proper cleaning and grounds upkeep of the building and surrounding property. This will also include mowing, weed eating and snow removal. Other duties include apartment reconditioning, responding to emergencies alarms (medical, fire and security) and other tasks as assigned by the Maintenance Facilities Manager or Administrator.
