Qualifications

  • HS diploma or GED required.
  • Advanced vocational training in maintenance, welding, or fabrication or 3+ years of maintenance/fabrication experience.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on pilot plant processing equipment.
  • Disassemble, inspect, repair, and reassemble equipment to maintain reliable operation.
  • Install and support the startup of new and prototype equipment used in research and product development.
  • Fabricate stainless steel parts and equipment to support pilot plant projects and equipment modifications.
  • Weld equipment and components in accordance with 3-A sanitary standards.
  • Diagnose equipment problems and recommend repairs or modifications to improve performance.
  • Maintain spare parts inventory and maintenance records in the CMMS.
  • Coordinate with equipment vendors to identify parts and repairs.
  • Support pilot plant teams with equipment installations, modifications, production trials, and research projects.
  • Inspect equipment for safe operation and follow food safety procedures.

Job description

Within our Corporate R&D/Pilot Plant team in Denver, Leprino is seeking a Maintenance Technician (day shift) to maintain, repair, and fabricate equipment supporting our pilot plant and research operations. This hands-on role supports cheese and nutrition processing, equipment trials, and research projects while helping keep pilot plant equipment safe, reliable, and ready for use.

At Leprino, starting hourly compensation for this role typically ranges between $30.03 and $33.03. This position has an annual target bonus of 3.5%.

What You’ll Do
  • Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on pilot plant processing equipment.
  • Disassemble, inspect, repair, and reassemble equipment to maintain reliable operation.
  • Install and support the startup of new and prototype equipment used in research and product development.
  • Fabricate stainless steel parts, components, and auxiliary equipment to support pilot plant projects and equipment modifications.
  • Weld equipment and components in accordance with 3-A sanitary standards.
  • Diagnose equipment problems and recommend repairs or modifications that improve equipment performance and reliability.
  • Maintain spare parts inventory, maintenance records, and service information within the CMMS.
  • Coordinate with equipment vendors to identify equipment, replacement components, and repair parts.
  • Support pilot plant teams with equipment installations, modifications, production trials, and research projects.
  • Inspect pilot plant equipment for safe operation and follow established personal and food safety procedures.
  • Assist facilities and laboratory teams with maintenance and equipment repairs as needed.
  • Respond to pilot plant equipment breakdowns and help restore equipment to service.
You Have At Least (Required Qualifications)
  • A high school diploma or GED.
  • Advanced vocational training in maintenance, welding, or fabrication or at least three years of maintenance or fabrication experience.
We Hope You Also Have (Preferred Qualifications)
  • Experience maintaining or repairing food processing or sanitary manufacturing equipment.
  • Experience with electrical wiring, motors, variable frequency drives (VFDs), and instrumentation.
  • Experience with stainless steel fabrication and welding in sanitary processing environments.
  • Experience installing, starting up, troubleshooting, or modifying processing equipment.
