Job summary

Guest Services, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Technician for Cheaha State Park in Delta, AL. The role handles routine facilities and grounds tasks, including painting, drywall repair, and HVAC/equipment diagnostics and repair.

Qualifications

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, overtime.
  • Ability to safely use hand and power tools.
  • Basic Computer Skills (Excel, Word).
  • Ability to speak, read, write and communicate in English.
  • Class D Driver’s License with insurable driving record, preferred CDL.
  • Strong customer service abilities; actively looks for ways to assist customers and coworkers.
  • Ability to recognize when a problem has occurred and communicate it to management.

Responsibilities

  • Facility maintenance and repair of the units operations.
  • Painting and staining interior and exterior surfaces.
  • Repair walls and flooring and major repairs to electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and refrigeration equipment.
  • Respond to emergencies and safety issues, including fire alarm systems; disengage systems as needed.
  • Maintain safe facility environment and conduct weekly maintenance inspections.
  • Assist with landscaping, mowing, snow removal, and custodial tasks.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

The successful candidate will have the capability to perform various maintenance tasks including, painting, dry wall repair, concrete forming and finishing. As well as the ability to diagnose and repair kitchen and HVAC equipment.Job Description:**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS** * Receive direction from the Maintenance Manager and assist in the overall maintenance and repair of the assigned units operations.* Painting and staining the interior and exterior of buildings.* Repairing damage to walls and flooring.* Major repairs to electrical, plumbing, heating and air conditioning, and refrigeration equipment as needed.* Respond immediately and resolve emergency facility needs/issues regarding safety/security/business requirements, including fire alarm systems; disengage electrical, water, or gas systems as necessary.* Maintain and ensure safe facility environment including standards for maintenance and upkeep of facility’s equipment. Bend, lift, carry, crawl, climb, reach/extend arms and hands above shoulder height frequently, or otherwise move in a constantly changing environment.* Lifting, carrying, and pushing up to 25 lbs. regularly, 30-35 lbs. frequently, and up to 50 lbs. occasionally.* Climbing steps and ladders regularly.* Withstanding temperature extremes in indoor and outdoor environments.* Reading and writing work-related documents in English.* Speech recognition and clarity, including the ability to understand the speech of customers and co-workers and the ability to speak clearly so that you can be understood by co-workers.* Physical presence at the job site is essential to perform job duties.* Must wear the correct protective and safety equipment at all times.**EQUIPMENT USED*** Repair equipment.
