Job summary

Walgreens is seeking a Maintenance Technician for a highly automated micro-fulfillment center. You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance on conveyors, AMHE, robotics, and automated storage systems to keep operations running smoothly.

You will troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and basic IT issues, respond to alerts, and collaborate with operations and IT teams to resolve system faults in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in industrial or maintenance technology or 2+ years in facilities/manufacturing maintenance.
• Knowledge of industrial electricity including motors and power protection devices.
• Experience with common hand/power tools (drills, fasteners, saws).
• Knowledge of mechanical theory including bearings, hydraulics, pneumatics and conveyors.

Responsibilities

• Performs assigned preventive maintenance and minor mechanical repairs on FC equipment.
• Uses preventive maintenance systems and manufacturer recommendations.
• Keeps material handling equipment running by clearing jams and removing foreign materials.
• Performs general building maintenance such as lamp replacement and simple repairs.

Job Summary

As a Maintenance Technician, you’ll work in a highly automated, technology-driven micro-fulfillment center where advanced systems like conveyors, robotics, and automated storage solutions keep operations moving. You’ll play a hands‑on role in keeping these systems running smoothly, ensuring equipment is reliable, efficient, and ready to support daily operations.

What You’ll Do Day‑to‑Day

Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on:

• Conveyor systems
• Automated material handling equipment (AMHE)
• Robotics and automated storage systems

Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and basic IT/connectivity issues

Respond to equipment alerts, downtime events, and system faults

Support real‑time operations in a fast‑paced fulfillment environment

Use tools and systems to diagnose issues (mechanical + basic connectivity checks)

Partner with operations and, when needed, IT teams to resolve system issues

Job Responsibilities

• Performs assigned preventive maintenance tasks and minor mechanical repairs to material handling and other Fulfillment Center (FC) equipment.
• Uses structured preventive maintenance systems to maintain distribution machinery and equipment according to the manufacturer’s recommendations and good maintenance practices.
• Maintains efficient operation of material handling equipment by clearing jams and removing foreign materials.
• Performs general building maintenance as directed, such as lamp replacement, simple construction, wiring, repair of overhead doors and plumbing

Basic Qualifications

• Associate degree in industrial or maintenance technology OR at least 2 years of maintenance experience in a facilities, United States Armed Forces, distribution and/or manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of industrial electricity including single‑phase and three‑phase power, motors, protective devices and/or photo sensors.
• At least 6 months experience with hand and power tools (such as drills, fasteners and saws) in a facilities, United States Armed Forces, distribution and/or manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of mechanical theory including bearings, hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyor, construction, and operation.
• Willing and able to climb to the elevated levels to make repairs with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Willing and able to lift parts and tools weighing up to 80 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Willing and able to perform tasks which include repetitive bending, crouching, kneeling, reaching, twisting, sitting, standing, and walking with or without reasonable accommodation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a facility that utilizes pharmacy dispensing technology.
• Basic IT / Technical Support Skills, including: Fundamental hardware troubleshooting, Basic network connectivity knowledge (e.g., identifying connectivity issues, pinging devices, confirming devices are online/offline), Exposure to enterprise IT environments (Server hardware/software platforms (e.g., Windows Server, Unix/AIX, iSeries/AS400), Virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware / vSphere)

Salary Range: $24 - $35.95 / Hourly
