Job summary

Nemera in the United States is seeking a Maintenance Technician - Automation to monitor, troubleshoot, and repair a variety of assembly, subassembly, printing, and packaging machines on the night shift. The role requires 3+ years of hands-on experience with complex automation, electrical systems, PLCs, and hydraulics, with the ability to lift up to 40 lbs and stand for long periods.

TPM, SAP, and cGMP experience is a plus.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean and safe work area and report any unsafe conditions.
• Read, use, and interpret measuring devices, gauges and inspection tools.
• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on equipment.
• Identify and ensure product quality per Quality policies.
• Participate on teams and suggest improvements.
• Respond to machine alarms and diagnose root causes.
• Follow 5S guidelines and cGMP work instructions.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot pneumatic, mechanical, or electrical malfunctions.
• Repair and maintain electrical controls on equipment.
• Assist with uploading programs to controls during failures or CPU replacement.
• Repair robot arms and controls, including boards, motors, encoders.
• Conduct TPM activities and enter maintenance work orders in SAP.

THIS IS AN 8 HOUR SECOND SHIFT NIGHTS POSITION 6PM - 2:30AM

Position Purpose: The Maintenance Technician - Automation is responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting, and repairs on various types of assembly, subassembly, printing, and/or packaging machines.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Maintain a clean and safe work area and report any unsafe working conditions
• Read, use, and interpret measuring devices, gauges and inspection tools
• Perform all required necessary preventive maintenance and repairs on equipment
• Check and maintain quality of product being produced by identifying acceptable and non-acceptable product in accordance with Quality policies and procedures
• Actively participate on teams and offer suggestions for improvement
• Answer machine alarms as they occur and identify and address the root cause.
• Follow all 5S guidelines
• Perform and document inspections per cGMP for work instruction sheet, on device history sheet records, and work instruction sheet tables
• Follow all Lock Out/Tag Out rules
• Diagnose and troubleshoot any pneumatic, mechanical, or electrical malfunction on a variety of machines
• Adjusts assembly machine units for major/minor lot production operations following department specification
• Repair and maintain electrical controls on equipment (assembly and packaging machines), including servicing, repairing, adjusting, and testing machines and devices primarily on the basis of electronic principles
• Assist with uploading programs to controls in the events of program loss or CPU replacement
• Repair robot arms and controls, including replacing bad boards, motors, encoders, etc.
• Conduct TPM activities as required
• Input Maintenance work orders into the Computerized Maintenance Management Software (SAP)
• Monitor processes, show an awareness of issues and demonstrate corrective actions to address those issues
• Perform weekly, monthly, and as required preventive maintenance (PM)
• Perform root cause analysis for safety, quality, and processing issues
• Suggest ways to improve the efficiency and safety of our work and environment
• Comply with all company policies
• Troubleshoots and locates the source of the problem by observing the operation of the equipment.
• Brainstorms with other maintenance personnel, and outside technical support as needed.
• Restores damaged or malfunctioning equipment to operation by repairing, replacing and or adjusting electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Controls down time by scheduling repairs with the Maintenance Leader
• Maintains good communications with Maintenance Leader
• Maintains ongoing list of CMMS work orders with timeline to be addressed and completed.
• Assists other maintenance personnel as needed,
• Conserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
• Ensures the work is completed with technical excellence, and in an efficient and cost-effective fashion.
• Other duties as assigned

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Must have 3 or more years of experience in a technical, hands-on position
• Experience with complex assembly automation required
• Experience in electrical, pneumatics, and hydraulics
• Knowledge of PLC programming and troubleshooting
• Ability to regularly lift up to 40lbs with repetitive movements
• Ability to push and pull items and climb up and down ladders
• Ability to stand and/or walk up to constantly during the shift

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

• Computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications required and SAP experience preferred
• Ability to work independently from verbal and/or written instructions required
• Understanding of Lean Manufacturing concepts
• Must be mechanically inclined and can use basic hand tools
• Must have strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Works in a clean manufacturing environment that may include moderate noise levels and required appropriate PPE and cleanroom apparel

POSITION RANGE:

$25.00 - $40.00 USD Hourly, if working on a night shift, you will receive a 10% shift differential (This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.)
