Job summary

Nexus Circular in Atlanta seeks an experienced Maintenance Technician to support our maintenance department by conducting routine maintenance, troubleshooting equipment issues, and repairing or replacing components. You'll coordinate with production teams, maintain CMMS records, and ensure safety protocols are followed while improving reliability of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.

This role reports to the Materials Manager and requires an associate degree and 3+ years

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or equivalent in industrial maintenance, mechanical or electrical engineering.
  • Minimum of 3 years of maintenance experience.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Ability to read blueprints and technical manuals.
  • Commitment to safety regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance on machinery and facilities, including inspection, lubrication and adjustment.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic issues and repair as needed.
  • Test, calibrate, and verify equipment operation after service.
  • Coordinate with production to minimize downtime and ensure timely completion.
  • Keep accurate maintenance records in CMMS and manage parts inventory.
  • Assist with installation of new equipment and be involved in major repairs as required.
  • Maintain safe working environment and follow safety procedures.

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. In this role, you will provide support to our maintenance department by conducting routine maintenance, troubleshooting equipment issues, and repairing and/or replacing equipment and machinery. This role reports to Nexus Circular’s Materials Manager.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct routine maintenance on machinery, equipment, and facilities, including inspecting, cleaning, lubricating, and adjusting parts as needed.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Test and calibrate equipment and machinery to ensure proper functioning.
  • Perform major repairs and machine overhauls as necessary.
  • Support maintenance vendors with routine visits.
  • Perform cycle counts of maintenance spare parts.
  • Ensure accurate record-keeping of maintenance activities, including work orders, repairs, and parts used through CMMS system.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities with production and operations teams to minimize downtime and ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Adhere to safety and housekeeping protocols and follow established procedures to maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Keep up-to-date with equipment manuals, procedures, and training materials, as required.
  • Assist with the installation of new equipment and machinery.
  • Collaborate with other team members and communicate effectively to share knowledge and ensure the successful completion of maintenance tasks.
Minimum Requirements
  • Associate's degree or equivalent in a relevant field such as industrial maintenance, mechanical engineering, or electrical engineering.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in maintenance or related field.
  • Strong technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Proficiency with hand and power tools and diagnostic equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Good understanding of safety protocols and regulations.

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects and work in confined and elevated spaces.
  • Ability to work outside of regular hours, as necessary, and work overtime or emergency call-ins as required.
