Job summary

Allison Transmission in Lewisburg, TN is seeking a Maintenance Technician for the 3rd shift. The role involves housekeeping, preventive and scheduled maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of electrical and mechanical systems, and coordination with vendors.

Strong problem-solving and teamwork are essential, along with ability to read drawings and operate basic software/tools. The ideal candidate has 5+ years in manufacturing maintenance, a tech/trade certificate, and fluency in English.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Certified from a tech or trade school.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Maintenance Technician in manufacturing.
• Must be able to read, write and speak English.

Responsibilities

• Housekeeping.
• Performs assigned preventative maintenance.
• Performs scheduled maintenance on equipment and machinery.
• Responds to and corrects equipment stoppage/mechanical breakdown.
• Troubleshoots, repairs/replaces worn/defective parts, motors, control devices.
• Operates machine shop equipment, hand tools and power tools.
• Maintenance Connection or equivalent CMMS experience is a plus.
• Monitor safety aspects and submit safety-related work orders.
• Strong desire to advance within the facility.
• Understand electrical and mechanical processes and principles.
• Basic computer skills (MS Office, databases).
• Understand programming with Allen Bradley and Control Techniques.
• Read AutoCAD drawings.
• Coordinate with outside vendors and input Purchase Orders.
• Fabricate machine parts from drawings for equipment builds.
• Work in a team environment; project management skills.
• Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Overtime as required.
• Must read/write/speak English.

Job Description:

• Housekeeping.

• Performs scheduled maintenance on equipment and machinery

• A strong desire to advance within the facility.

• Solid understanding and knowledge of electrical and mechanical processes and principles

• Basic computer skills in Microsoft Office, applications, databases and interfacing.

• Basic understanding of programming with Allen Bradley and Control Techniques.

• Ability to understand Auto CAD drawings.

• Demonstrated ability to effectively coordinate with outside vendors including input of Purchase Orders.

• Demonstrated ability to fabricate machine parts from drawings for equipment builds.

• Ability to work in a team environment.

• Must have project management skills.

• An operational knowledge of automated industrial machinery which includes motors, servos, pumps, drives, relays, 3 phase power, communication devices, industrial / electronic controls and power transmission systems.

• A good understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

• Other duties as required.

• Must be able to work overtime.

• Must be able to read, write and speak English.

• Must be certified from a tech or trade school.

• 5+ years’ experience as a Maintenance Technician in a manufacturing environment.

• Ability to use hand tools.

• Strong mechanical aptitude.

• Must be able to pass powered lift equipment testing.
