The Maintenance Technician is responsible for repairing, maintaining and adjusting all machinery and equipment in the plant. He or she also troubleshoots problems dealing with machines. In addition, he or she is responsible for any other task the Maintenance Supervisor deems necessary. The position reports to the Maintenance Supervisor.Hours of 3rd shift: Sunday evening to Friday morning - 10:45 PM to 7:15 AM3rd Shift Premium: $1.50 per hourEssential Function:Support, maintain and troubleshoot electrical/electronic equipment, mechanical equipment, hydraulic equipment, and pneumatic equipmentSupport, maintain and troubleshoot mixing and extrusion equipmentProficient in reading electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic and automation drawingsPerform a wide range of mechanical repairs (i.e. conveyors, pumps, valves, mechanical drives)Perform basic electrical installations and repairsPerform and document preventative maintenance activitiesMaintain a clean, organized and safe working environmentDemonstrate willingness and ability to learn complex manufacturing systemsOn-call manufacturing support for maintenance after hours and weekendsAbility to work overtime as scheduled or neededAdhere to all safety standards (i.e. permit to work, lock-out and tag-out procedures)Adhere to all company policies and proceduresProficiency in troubleshooting HVAC systems a plusProficiency in welding and fabrication a plusProficiency in related construction fields (concrete, masonry, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, etc.) a plusPerform total productive maintenance (TPM) tasks as scheduled.Consult the Maintenance Lead to determine critical spare parts for any new or modified equipment.Other duties as assignedSkills / Competencies:5+ years of technical experience working in a manufacturing environment preferredExperience in managing service providers who handle specialized installation, maintenance, and repair of machines and equipmentWorking knowledge of electrical/electronic, hydraulic, mechanical, pneumatic systemsExpertise in handling multiple projects and daily activities with timelinesDemonstrated willingness to vocalize and review problems with supervisor and cross-functional team members in order to determine the best course of actionDemonstrated verbal and written communication skillsDemonstrated ability to accurately perform basic computationsAble to drive a tow motor and pallet-jack liftAble to transport tools and parts to needed locations within the plant and warehouseAble to access all areas of the plant including the roof and areas above equipmentAbility to climb laddersComfortable with working in a wide range of environments from interior to exterior, confined space, elevated platforms and heights.Comfortable with workplace technology like registers, scheduling software, inventory management software.Working knowledge of rotating machine(blower, etc), station machine(hopper, etc) and electric machine.(motor, etc)Working knowledge of applicable regulations.
