Job summary

Mauser Packaging Solutions seeks a maintenance technician for our Indiana plant to perform preventive maintenance and mechanical repairs on production equipment, including injection molding machines. You will troubleshoot, adjust, and replace components, document changes, and ensure a safe, efficient operation.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or GED and 3–5 years of manufacturing maintenance experience, with strong problem-solving and reading of schematics.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 3-5 years maintenance experience in manufacturing.
  • Tooling and repair experience preferred.
  • Injection molding experience preferred.
  • Interpret documents such as manuals, blueprints, schematics.
  • Ability to use precision measuring devices including amp meters, electric meters, and hydraulic gauges.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Basic math skills (add/subtract/multiply/divide).

Responsibilities

  • Follow all work instructions and safety policies, including use of PPE.
  • Install plate changeovers and start-up machines for production needs.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance on production equipment.
  • Repair mechanical components and replace parts on machines.
  • Observe and listen to mechanical devices to locate problems.
  • Dismantle devices to access defective parts.
  • Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments.
  • Inspect parts for dimensional accuracy.
  • Lubricate and clean machinery; maintain housekeeping and maintenance standards.
  • Document and track changeover times; complete work orders.
  • Follow safety rules (Lockout/Tagout, 5S) to ensure a safe environment.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Job description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Follow, without exception, all work instructions and safety policies, including use of all PPE and safety equipment
  • Examine machine controls to install plate changeovers and start-up machines for production needs when required
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance checks on all production equipment and machinery
  • Repair basic mechanical components and replace parts on machines such as bearings, filters, wiring, valves, gauges and switches
  • Observe and listen to mechanical devices in operation to locate causes of the problem
  • Dismantle devices to gain access to and remove defective parts
  • Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments
  • Inspect used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements
  • Lubricate and clean machinery and support equipment to maintain housekeeping and preventive maintenance standards within the plant
  • Document and track changeover times and record
  • Accomplish all work orders to maintain safety; reduce downtime; decrease scrap; improve quality production; and improve plant efficiency
  • Follows all safety rules and procedures including the Lockout/Tagout program, housekeeping, and 5S standards and observes the operations to ensure a safe work environment
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, and diagram or schedule form.

Education and/or Experiences:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • 3-5 years maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment; or an equivalent combination of training and experience
  • Tooling and repair experience highly preferred
  • Experience with injection molding machines is highly preferred
  • Ability to interpret documents such as procedure manuals, blueprints, schematics, charts, diagrams, etc.
  • Ability to use precision measuring devices including amp meters, electric meters, and hydraulic gauges
  • Basic understanding of systems, equipment and schematics
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Good troubleshooting skills
  • Basic mathematical skills used to add, subtract, multiply, divide, and use decimals and fraction
