Job summary

The Hershey Company is seeking a Maintenance Technician for 2nd shift in Bethlehem, PA. You will maintain and repair facilities, equipment, and systems to ensure smooth operations in a manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance on motors, conveyors, and production machines, plus troubleshooting 3‑phase motors, pneumatics, VFDs, HMIs and PLCs. Strong mechanical/electrical skills and ability to work overtime required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in maintenance preferred.
• 2–3 years of experience as a maintenance technician in manufacturing/industrial setting.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
• Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot problems efficiently and perform repairs.
• Proficient in reading technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work overtime as needed.

• Operate and maintain machinery and equipment; perform preventive maintenance on motors, pneumatic tools, conveyors, and production machines.
• Identify and locate problems by observing equipment in operation and using measuring instruments.
• Control downtime by implementing preventive maintenance and informing production teams.
• Fabricate repair parts using machine tools and shop equipment.
• Maintain safety and organization; document actions and needs for teams.
• Troubleshoot/reapir 3‑phase motors and pneumatics; work with VFDs, HMIs, and PLC controls.

Pay:

• Pay for this position starts at $29/hr.
• $3.00 shift differential for working 2nd or 3rd shifts
• Pay is determined by level of skill and experience.

Job Summary:

The Maintenance Technician willbe responsible forthe upkeep and repair of our facilities, equipment, and systems to ensure smooth operations and a safe working environment.

Essential Duties andResponsibilities:

Ensureoperation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, production machines, and General Electric

Locates sources of problems byobservingmechanical devices in operation; listeningforproblems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.

Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques;monitoringcompliance.

Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.

Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests.

Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.

Maintainssafeand clean working environment bycomplying withprocedures, rules, and regulations.

Contributes to team effort byaccomplishingrelated results as needed

Must be able to perform maintenance functions in a manufacturing environment with emphasis on mechanical and electrical repair.

Experience troubleshooting/repairing and wiring 3 phase motors

Experience with pneumatics

Experience troubleshooting/repairing and replacing VFD’s (notrequiredbut a plus!)

Working with HMI and PLC controls

Qualifications and Education:

High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in maintenance or related field preferred.

Proven experience, 2 – 3 years, as a maintenance technician or similar role, preferably in a manufacturing, industrial, or commercial setting.

Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.

Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot problems efficiently and perform effective repairs.

Proficientin reading technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with team members and other departments.

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
