Job summary

CTI Foods is seeking a Maintenance Technician at our Kentucky facility. You will routinely inspect equipment, perform preventive maintenance, and identify worn parts to prevent failures.

The role requires reading and understanding mechanical and electrical schematics and P&ID flow charts, with 3 years of maintenance experience preferred. You will operate and set up plant equipment, follow shutdown procedures, and maintain records while promoting food safety and quality culture.

Qualifications

  • Experience in maintenance is required; 3 yrs preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Routinely inspect equipment and perform preventive maintenance.
  • Identify worn mechanical parts and schedule replacements.
  • Understand and troubleshoot controls, interlocks, and electrical shutdown procedures.
  • Operate and set up plant equipment; report concerns to maintenance lead/manager.
  • Maintain records and ensure compliance with GMP and safety guidelines.

Job Overview

Responsible for routinely inspecting equipment and performing basic preventative maintenance duties as necessary or scheduled

Responsibilities
Routinely inspect equipment
  • Evaluate integrity of equipment and determine potential equipment failure or actual equipment failure.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on all facility equipment and machinery including office auxiliary equipment.
  • Identify when mechanical parts (e.g. sprockets, bearing shafts, chain, gearboxes) are worn and need to be replaced.
  • Understand and troubleshoot controls and equipment interlocks.
  • Understand and perform electrical shutdown procedures.
  • Understand the fire system operation and where the valves are located.
  • Able to operate and setup all equipment in the plant.
  • Report concerns or problems to the maintenance lead and/or manager.
  • Perform preventive maintenance repairs as needed.

  • Understand pneumatics, hydraulic basic controls, pumps and general operations.
  • Ability to identify visual defects and make correction as needed and identify and distinguish between colors.
  • Must be able to work in areas of varying temperatures.
  • Relieve other associates as necessary.
  • Maintain good housekeeping.

  • Promotes, adheres, and is responsible for Food Safety and Quality
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Perform all job duties and responsibilities in a compliant and ethical manner and in accordance with applicable Federal, State, and local laws as well as company policies and procedures.
Operate Equipment

Operate all equipment (e.g. conveyors, augers, pumps, etc.) in order to perform necessary Pre-Operational maintenance procedures.

Perform basic maintenance duties as necessary
  • Maintain operational ability and integrity of all machinery.
  • Lubricate all equipment as necessary and verify that the equipment or parts accepts lubrication properly
  • Understand pneumatics, hydraulic basic controls, pumps and general operations.
Operate Equipment
  • Operate all equipment (e.g. conveyors, augers, pumps, etc.) in order to perform necessary Pre-Operational maintenance procedures.

All other duties as assigned by Supervisor

Qualifications
  • Lift up to 50lbs
  • Frequently move between warm and cold environments
  • Read, write, and understand English at a technical level
  • Complete basic math problems
  • Able to read and understand mechanical & electrical schematics
  • 3 yrs of previous experience in maintenance
  • Associate Degree in Industrial Maintenance Preferred
Miscellaneous Responsibilities
  • Keep work area clean and free of clutter and debris.
  • Follow all food safety (GMP) and general safety guidelines.
  • Complete other tasks as assigned by maintenance lead and/or manager.
  • Ability to read, write and interpret documents such as box markings, labels, schedules, safety rules, GMP’s and general instructions.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of process and equipment
  • Ability to work in a high paced environment.
  • Reliable attendance is an essential function of the job.
  • All other duties as assigned.
  • Follow all company Safety Rules and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) and adhere to JSA guidelines.
