Job summary

Pratt Industries in Humboldt, TN is seeking a Maintenance Technician to keep our equipment running at peak efficiency. You will troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and PLC systems, perform planned maintenance, and mentor teammates to uphold safety and quality standards.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, access to your own basic tools, and preferably prior corrugated industry experience. Lift truck operation and equipment knowledge are a plus.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required with prior maintenance exposure.
  • Experience preferred in corrugated industry is a plus.
  • Must be able to provide own basic maintenance tools.
  • Ability to read and follow factory instructions and diagrams.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to safe work practices and maintain equipment performance.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, and PLC systems.
  • Plan, schedule, and execute maintenance tasks to minimize downtime.

EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Provide own tools necessary to perform maintenance tasks.
  • Candidates are PREFERRED who offer Prior work experience in the corrugated industry
Language Skills
  • Able to read and follow instructions on factory masters.
Mathematical Skills
  • Able to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy.
  • Able to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, measurement, volume and rate.
  • Able to apply concepts of high school math.
Reasoning Ability
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or graphic form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving one or more concrete variables in standardized situations.
Technical Skills

The individual must have a working knowledge of the following:

  • Equipment design and capabilities that can be translated into efficient operation.
  • Product layouts and production specifications
  • Product quality specifications
  • Quality standards
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
  • May be required to maintain a current Lift Truck Operator License and/or other appropriate certification to work in certain areas or on certain equipment.
Physical Demands

  • The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
