Job summary

Schweid & Sons is seeking a Maintenance Technician for 2nd shift in College Park, GA. The role supports maintenance of manufacturing equipment, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, PLCs, and packaging lines. Strong troubleshooting and PM skills are essential.

Must read schematics and work well in a team in a fast-paced environment. Ideal candidates have 2–5 years in industrial maintenance, familiarity with Limble ERP, and experience with GMP and safety policies.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years’ work experience with industrial maintenance.
• Knows how to use hand tools.
• Knows how to use power tools.
• Must have pneumatics, hydraulics, and industrial electrical systems working knowledge.
• Must know how to read hydraulic and electrical schematics.
• Able to perform basic mathematical functions.
• Good troubleshooting skills
• Able to perform predictive and preventative maintenance.
• Able to offer feedback about PMs for PM improvement.
• Able to tolerate working in a cold, wet, and humid environment.
• Able to follow all safety, attendance, GMP, and HR policies.

Responsibilities

• Works well with others to improve production.
• Understand and troubleshoot equipment failures and perform repairs.
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance as part of the PM program.
• Maintain and repair PLC-driven and pneumatic/hydraulic systems.
• Communicate effectively about equipment status and needs.

Essential Job Functions

• Works well with others.
• Able work as part of a team to improve production.
• Able to understand communications from others about equipment failures and the troubleshoot problem and make repairs.
• Min 2 years’ experience in a maintenance department.
• Excellent knowledge of maintenance and operation principles, policies, practices and strategies.
• Thorough working knowledge of PLC (programmable logic controller), pneumatic operated systems, Single phase, three phase motors, all aspects of conveyor feeding and packaging.
• Experience using computer-based reactionary/ preventive /predictive maintenance software systems; Limble ERP preferred.
• Experience in the food industry is strongly preferred.
• Experience with patty formers, grinders and packaging preferred.
• Effectively communication, both orally and written.
