Job summary

Peet’s Coffee in Alameda, CA is seeking a Maintenance Technician to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair plant equipment and facility systems at the roasting plant, ensuring safe and reliable operations. You will work with cross-functional teams and support daily production needs.

The role requires 3–5 years in industrial maintenance, strong electro-mechanical skills, CMMS experience, and the ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in industrial maintenance; experience in food manufacturing or packaging is preferred.
• Strong electro-mechanical aptitude, with the ability to troubleshoot and maintain mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and related equipment.
• Self-starter who is organized, dependable, and able to work independently while also being a strong team player.
• Bilingual skills are a plus.
• Boiler experience is helpful.
• Comfortable using computers for accurate data entry, accessing equipment manuals, and documenting maintenance activities.
• Experience using a CMMS or the willingness to learn one.
• Communicates clearly and effectively with diverse stakeholders and partners.
• Thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment; adaptable and responsive to changing business needs.
• Must be flexible and able to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends, as well as occasional overtime.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on all plant equipment according to the maintenance schedule.
• Diagnose and repair filling and assembly lines as needed.
• Interpret and utilize system error messages on related equipment.
• Understand roasting equipment operation including HMIs.
• Work on bag slitters and pallet lifter.
• Diagnose and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Read and interpret electrical diagrams as per equipment repairs and diagnosis.
• Possess the ability to use and understand multimeters.
• Repair facilities related items, doors, dock levelers, lights, ballasts, sinks, drains, and general grounds maintenance.
• Assist with roasting equipment maintenance requiring ladders and basic hand/power tools.
• Perform and assist in line change over and setups.

The Maintenance Technician reports to the Maintenance Supervisor and works closely with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve issues that impact daily operations. This role is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment and facility systems throughout the Peet’s Coffee roasting plant to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations.
The Maintenance Technician is expected to demonstrate strong teamwork, reliability, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and productive work environment. Regular and dependable attendance is an essential function of the role.

Schedule:

This position works Monday- Friday, 2nd shift, 12 noon-8:30pm

Hourly Wage:

$32-45/hour

What You Will Do
