Job Summary
Join our amazing production team in Commerce, CA (just north of the Citadel). Provide maintenance support and repairs to production machinery and facility for a 24‑hr, 7‑day manufacturing operation. Additionally, performs all the duties of a Maintenance Technician 1 as required. Maintenance work hours may vary.
Schedule
- Wednesday – Sunday, 8:15 PM to 4:30 AM (rotating work days)
Key Duties / Responsibilities
- Production Support – Respond in a timely manner to all maintenance requests on the production floor. Train production technicians in proper setup and copy troubleshooting techniques. Provide training and assistance as needed to maximize production output and minimize downtime through proper production techniques and handling practices.
- Troubleshooting & Repairs – Effectively diagnose mechanical, electrical, network, and computer hardware/software in the assigned area. Make timely and accurate repairs during production. Use illustrated parts breakdown manuals and operational manuals for maintenance.
- Preventative Maintenance – Inspect machinery daily for potential problems. Document problems and schedule repairs as appropriate. Respond to all assigned maintenance work orders timely. Perform PM activities per the preventive maintenance plan and record them using proper PM sheets.
- Administrative – Perform inventory control of parts and equipment used. Inform the Supervisor of parts and equipment utilized. Record maintenance activities using the proper computer application or paperwork. Train and coach new maintenance technicians and inspect their work.
- Housekeeping / Other – Perform housekeeping duties required of maintenance staff, including work area clean‑up, machine and equipment clean‑up, sweeping, and various other general housekeeping duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Education – High School Diploma or GED (required); Associate degree (preferred)
- Experience – 1–3 years of related experience; electro‑mechanical experience
- Certifications & Licensures – Powered Industrial Truck Certification
- Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
- Proficient in performing production equipment preventive maintenance.
- Able to diagnose equipment faults and malfunctions.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations/requirements.
- Able to identify and perform Level A, B, & C equipment preventive maintenance.
- Able to read and understand schematics/blueprints.
- Good time‑management skills; plans and organizes daily workflow.
- Retains knowledge of procedures and processes; understands complex instructions and multi‑step procedures.
- Willingness to attend training classes to learn or enhance skills.
- Identifies and resolves problems promptly; organizes work, people, and materials.
- Reads, interprets documents, and writes routine reports.
- Calculates area, circumference, volume, etc.
- Service‑oriented personality.
- Works a schedule with call‑in and overtime duties.
- Communicates effectively in English (preferred); intermediate written and verbal communication skills.

- Equipment / Software Utilized
- Basic computer skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and internet software.
- Experience with Inventory Software, Manufacturing Software, and Order Processing Systems preferred.
- Communication and Contacts
- Informs leaders and other technicians of pertinent information; communicates to plant personnel, leadership, and other departments.
- Communicates with equipment operators to determine problems and whether adjustments or repairs are necessary.
- Communicates with outside vendors, suppliers, service, and maintenance providers.
- Decision Making
- Often must make decisions with department supervisors to shut down equipment, schedule repairs, and request service.
Physical Demands / Working Conditions
- Required to carry up to 40 lbs, push and pull up to 40 lbs, twist, stand, walk, reach, bend, stoop, climb, and grip/grasp throughout the shift.
- May lift up to 40 lbs, squat, and kneel occasionally.
- Must work in a fast‑paced environment with exposure to moving mechanical parts, airborne dust, paper particles, and industrial lift trucks.
- Regular exposure to noise levels that exceed OSHA standards requires hearing protection.

Additional Information
The national pay range for this role is $22.00 – $30.00 hourly. The pay range may be slightly lower or higher based on the geographic location of the hired employee. The actual pay offered may vary based upon education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift, and location. In addition to base salary, the total compensation package may include participation in a bonus, commission, or incentive program.
