Job summary

New Pig Corporation is seeking a Maintenance Technician for the 2nd shift (2:30 pm – 11:00 pm) at the Duncansville and Altoona facilities. The role focuses on troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and repair of electrical and mechanical systems to keep production running smoothly.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in production maintenance, experience with Allen-Bradley, hydraulics/pneumatics, CAD drawings, and strong problem-solving skills. Occasional overtime and weekend work may be required.

Qualifications

• 5 years related experience in production maintenance environment.
• Motor drive and PLC tech level experience; certifications a plus.
• Experience with Allen-Bradley (Rockwell Automation) and industrial power systems.
• Hydraulic and pneumatic power systems knowledge.
• Reading CAD drawings – mechanical/electrical.
• MS Office – Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Support 2nd shift production to troubleshoot and repair equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance on equipment at multiple locations with CMMS.
• Enter repairs and PM data into CMMS for records and metrics.
• Work with other maintenance staff to meet output, quality, and financial goals.
• Ensure machine uptime and process capability meet schedules.
• Install and maintain electrical equipment and controls; power distribution as needed.
• Troubleshoot and maintain machine control systems (drives, relays, PLCs).
• Maintain mechanical systems (motors, gearboxes, etc.).
• Assist in spare parts inventory management and procurement.
• Support Engineering with fabrication and installation of custom equipment.

Maintenance Technician – 2nd Shift (2:30 pm – 11:00 pm)

Duncansville & Altoona facilities

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Production Maintenance

• Support 2nd shift production as needed to troubleshoot and repair equipment back to a safe and proper working condition
• Perform regularly scheduled Preventive Maintenance on equipment at multiple locations in coordination with the CMMS
• Interact with CMMS via PM’s, repairs and reporting information into the system for record keeping, tracking and measures
• Integrate with other maintenance professionals in support of multi-shift production operation to achieve output, quality and financial performance goals and objectives
• Ensure machine uptimes and process capabilities will meet quality and production schedules
• Install, maintain, test, troubleshoot and repair industrial electrical equipment and associated electrical and electronic controls
• Installation of power distribution equipment as needed including sub panels, conduit, wiring, etc
• Troubleshoot and maintain complex machine control systems including drives, relays, machine network, and PLC systems
• Troubleshoot and maintain mechanical systems such as motors, gearboxes, and other power transmission systems
• Participate in the management of critical spare parts inventory to ensure availability as needed
• Support Manufacturing Engineering by fabricating, debugging and installing custom designed equipment via the use of machining centers (lathes, CNC), plasma cutting, welding and other equipment
• Aid in the development and maintain maintenance training programs
• Lean Manufacturing – Facilitate and support the deployment of lean manufacturing techniques on all projects in support of lean culture and elimination of 8 wastes

Candidate Qualifications:

• 5 years related experience in production maintenance environment
• Motor drive and PLC tech level experience, Certifications a plus
• Experience with Allen-Bradley (Rockwell Automation) and industrial power systems
• Hydraulic and pneumatic power systems knowledge
• Familiarity with various hand and maintenance shop tools -micrometers, calipers and tape measure, etc
• Experience with reading design drawings for the purpose of fabrication
• Ability to read CAD drawings – mechanical / electrical
• Ability to perform basic mathematics and fractions
• MS Office – Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Willingness to seek out and achieve position related training and/or certifications
• Must be self-motivated and able to work independently with limited daily supervision
