Job summary

Carolina Container in North Carolina is seeking a Maintenance Technician responsible for installing, troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining production and facility equipment in a safety-conscious, productive environment.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma and hands-on maintenance experience in manufacturing, with hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical and PLC skills; strong teamwork and flexibility are essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent with craft apprenticeship completed.
• 18 years of age or older.
• Manufacturing experience with hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical and industrial skills.
• Some PLC experience and HVAC knowledge.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule in a fast-paced environment.
• Corrugated industry experience preferred.
• Team-oriented and self-directed.

Responsibilities

• Install and maintain production machines and equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs during production and scheduled maintenance.
• Maximize equipment utilization by keeping machinery running at capacity.
• Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines and facilities.
• Read manuals and work orders to perform maintenance.
• Use hand and power tools, meters, and equipment.
• Complete special projects as required.
• Duties may expand with business needs.

SUMMARY

The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems.

SALARY

Pay commensurate with experience.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and equipment.
• Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
• Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of equipment during production and perform scheduled maintenance repairs of equipment during machine service.
• Maximize the utilization of equipment by maintaining the machinery to run at available capacity and speed.
• Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and facilities.
• Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
• Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
• Special projects as business dictate.
• Duties may be expanded upon and additional duties may be assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma or equivalent and completion of a craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experience.
• Must be 18 years of age.
• Manufacturing experience; strong hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical and industrial skills with some PLC experience and HVAC.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule.
• Prior work experience in the corrugated industry preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
• Team-oriented and self-directed.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
