Job summary

Flex‑N‑Gate is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic to install, maintain, and repair facility equipment including presses, conveyors, and compressors. You will work on electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems to keep production running efficiently.

This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, safety focus, and teamwork. Starting pay is $36 per hour for a Monday–Friday shift. Reports to the Maintenance Manager and offers growth with a leading automotive supplier.

Qualifications

• Must pass a pulmonary function test and respirator exam.
• Must be clean shaven where a respirator seal is required.
• Must be able to communicate in English.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to work within a team setting.
• Must understand health and safety training materials in English.
• Technical or vocational training preferred.
• Previous maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install and maintain facility equipment including presses, plating systems, conveyors, and compressors.
• Maintain and troubleshoot motor control systems (pneumatic, mechanical, hydraulic).
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues with Power & Free systems and equipment racks.
• Read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
• Perform welding for repairs as needed.
• Safely operate cranes, hoists, forklifts, and aerial work platforms up to 60 feet.
• Collaborate with maintenance trades (mechanical, welding, fabrication, pipefitting).
• Perform general repairs and preventative maintenance to minimize downtime.
• Maintain a clean, safe workspace and follow safety/quality standards.
• Work in varying temperatures indoors/outdoors from sub-zero to 150°F.
• Wear PPE including respirator and Level B chemical suit when necessary.
• Employees provide their own tools.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Title: Industrial Maintenance Mechanic

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 5:00 am–1:30 pm

Reports To: Maintenance Manager

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Industrial Maintenance Mechanic to join our team. This role is primarily responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of facility equipment including presses, plating systems, paint line conveyors, compressors, and related mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

• Install and maintain equipment throughout the facility including polish heads, plating hoists, pumps, presses, paint line conveyor systems, and compressors
• Maintain and troubleshoot motor control systems including pneumatic, mechanical, and hydraulic systems
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical issues with Power & Free systems and equipment rack
• Read and accurately interpret blueprints and schematics
• Perform welding for repair work as needed
• Safely operate cranes, hoists, forklifts, and aerial work platforms up to 60 feet
• Utilize and work with maintenance trades and components such as mechanical, welding, fabrication, and pipefitting
• Perform general repairs and preventative maintenance to minimize equipment downtime
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace, adhering to all safety and quality standards
• Work in variable temperatures indoors and outdoors ranging from sub‑zero to 150 °F
• Wear required PPE including respirator and Level B chemical suit when necessary
• Employees are required to provide their own tools
• Other duties as assigned

Shift is 8 hours. May work overtime depending on business need. Two 10‑minute breaks per shift and a 30‑minute meal break.

Qualifications

• Must be able to pass a pulmonary function test and respirator exam for negative pressure respiratory protection
• Must be clean shaven in areas where a respirator seal is required
• Must be able to communicate in English
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem‑solving skills
• Ability to work within a team setting
• Must be able to demonstrate understanding of health and safety compliance training programs and departmental work instructions written in English
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Technical or vocational training preferred
• Previous maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment preferred

Physical Demands

• Lift a minimum of 50 lbs
• Work in awkward positions including lying on back and working overhead, inside presses
• Must be able to climb ladders up to 20 feet and on top of equipment safely when needed
• Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands, and reach above head and below shoulder level
• Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment
• If corrective lenses are required, must be able to wear glasses (contacts may be restricted in certain conditions)
• Weight limitation: must not exceed 310 lbs. (person plus tools) to safely use fall protection equipment

Work Environment

• The work environment is representative of conditions typical for a manufacturing facility and is not climate-controlled
• Exposure to moving mechanical parts, wet/humid conditions, fumes, airborne particles, and loud environments
• Occasional exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals and vibration
• Safety precautions must always be followed to reduce exposure to hazards
