Job summary

CSL is seeking a maintenance technician for a 24/7 manufacturing facility in Illinois. The role requires preventive maintenance on engines, motors, conveyors, and production machines, with shift work including weekends and holidays.

Union representation under local 498C UFCW applies, and all wages/benefits follow the collective bargaining agreement. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, with an Associate's degree preferred and 3 years of maintenance experience.

Qualifications

• Experience in a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility or regulated environment strongly desired.
• 3 years in Maintenance experience.
• 1 year in area of expertise (e.g. Electronics, Electricity, Refrigeration, Machinist, Machine Repair, Millwright).

Responsibilities

• Ensures operation of machinery and equipment for preventive maintenance per diagrams, manuals, and specs; troubleshoots malfunctions.
• Locates problems by observing devices and using precision measuring/testing instruments.
• Maintains safe, clean working environment and complies with procedures and regulations.
• Maintains technical knowledge by attending workshops and reviewing technical publications; builds personal network.
• Contributes to team effort and completes other duties as assigned by senior management.

Job description

Important Information About This Position

• All positions require availability to work 8 hour shifts on a regular schedule and availability to work overtime as needed. Overtime is occasionally scheduled on a volunteer basis but some overtime will be forced based on seniority.
• This is a 24/7 manufacturing facility, and positions will require working weekend, holidays, and on any shift (day, evening or night). Shift schedules may change based on seniority and days off will be based on the needs within the department.
• This is a union-represented position requiring successful candidates to join the local 498C UFCW union. All wages and benefits are defined in the collective bargaining agreement.

Main Responsibilities And Accountabilities

• Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment in completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer’s instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.
• Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operations; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
• Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing technical publications, establishing personal network.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Completes any other duties/responsibilities assigned by senior management.

Position Qualifications and Experience Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Associates degree in Industrial Maintenance or Trade Certificate preferred

Experience

• 3 years in Maintenance experience.
