Job summary

Diamond Packaging, a global leader in innovative and sustainable packaging solutions, is seeking a full-time Maintenance Technician 1 to join our Maintenance Department in Rochester, NY. The role supports senior technicians by diagnosing mechanical and electrical problems on production equipment and facility structures, and by rebuilding components as needed.

Candidates should have at least three years of maintenance experience, a high school diploma, and the ability to read blueprints.

Qualifications

• Three years performing production equipment maintenance
• High school diploma or equivalent experience
• Working knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, electricity, welding, and machining
• Ability to read blueprints and electrical schematics

Responsibilities

• Assist senior technicians with diagnosing mechanical and electrical problems on production equipment and facility structures
• Assist with rebuilding components such as pumps, motors, gear boxes, and forklift trucks
• Assist with installation of production equipment per manufacturers' specifications

Salary Range: $26.00 To $36.00 Hourly

Primary responsibility is to assist senior level technicians with diagnosing mechanical and electrical problems on production, telecommunication and maintenance equipment and facility structures . Assist with rebuilding necessary equipment components such as pumps, motors, glue pots, gear boxes, forklift trucks, printing presses, die cutting machines, etc . Assist with the installation of production equipment in accordance with the manufacturers’ mechanical and electrical specifications.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Three years performing production equipment maintenance are required.
• High school diploma or equivalent experience.
• A working level knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, electricity, welding, and machining.
• Ability to read blueprints and electrical schematics are required.
• Analytical problem-solving skills are required.
• Mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity.
• Ability to operate hand and power tools.
• Ability to deal with people at all organizational levels.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
