Job summary

NewCold in Tacoma, WA is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform preventive maintenance and repairs across our warehouse systems, ensuring safe and efficient operations.

The ideal candidate will diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues in warehouse equipment such as conveyors, stacker cranes, and dock systems, while adhering to safety standards and SOPs. A flexible schedule including nights and weekends is required.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical issues in warehouse or production equipment.
• Experience maintaining conveyors, stacker cranes, and dock systems.
• Familiarity with safety regulations and PSM/OSHA guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and timely repairs on equipment to ensure minimal disruption to daily operations.
• Maintain and repair conveyors, stacker cranes, ammonia refrigeration units, fire protection systems, pallet handling equipment, dock doors, and other mechanical components.
• Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic system issues to restore functionality efficiently.
• Respond promptly to maintenance calls and work orders, providing solutions-focused support to operations.
• Set up and operate machine tools (milling machines, grinders, drills) to fabricate or repair components.
• Operate cutting torches and welding equipment to perform fabrication or structural repairs.
• Monitor and maintain compliance with Process Safety Management (PSM) program.
• Document maintenance activities, issues, and resolutions through CMMS.
• Follow standardized work instructions and ensure tasks are completed to company standards.
• Ensure actions adhere to OSHA, FSDA, and internal safety protocols.
• Work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Maintenance Technician

Job Summary

As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for performing a wide variety of maintenance and repair tasks to support the smooth and efficient operation of our warehouse facility. This role requires a strong commitment to maintaining a safe and professional work environment, in alignment with company values and Health & Safety standards.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience diagnosing and resolving mechanical and electrical issues in manufacturing or production equipment. Key responsibilities include maintaining and repairing essential plant systems such as conveyors, stacker cranes, ammonia refrigeration units, oxygen reduction systems, pallet handling equipment, fire protection systems, automatic loading/unloading carriers, and dock doors and levelers, among other mechanical systems.

Wage

starting rate $27.25 - $35.55

Sunday - Thursday 9:30pm - 6:00am

Duties/Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and timely repairs on equipment to ensure minimal disruption to daily operations.
• Maintain a wide range of systems in accordance with supplier and manufacturer guidelines, including conveyors, stacker cranes, ammonia refrigeration units (evaporators and condensers), fire protection systems, freezer doors, pallet-handling equipment, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), dock doors, and other mechanical components.
• Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic system issues to restore functionality efficiently.
• Respond promptly to maintenance calls and work orders, providing support to operations with a solutions-focused mindset and a willingness to share knowledge.
• Set up and operate a variety of machine tools (e.g., milling machines, grinders, drills) to fabricate or repair components as needed.
• Operate cutting torches and welding equipment to perform fabrication or structural repairs.
• Monitor and maintain compliance with all elements of the Process Safety Management (PSM) program.
• Report and document maintenance activities, issues, and resolutions through computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
• Follow standardized work instructions and ensure all tasks are completed accurately and to company standards.
• Ensure all actions adhere to OSHA, FSDA, and internal safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
• Work a flexible schedule as required, including nights, weekends, and holidays, to support business operations.
