Job summary

Pacific Seafood in Woodland, WA is seeking a Maintenance Technician I to join our maintenance team. The role focuses on preventative maintenance, repairs, and safe operation of plant equipment to keep production running smoothly.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, at least two years of related experience, and preferably forklift certification. We offer a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for growth.

Responsibilities

  • Maintenance and Repair: assess problems with follow-up and perform minor plumbing/electrical work to maintain production.
  • Learn setup, operation, adjustments, and parameters of production equipment; bring equipment to a good operating standard.
  • Repair equipment when breakdowns occur to maintain production; paint areas as needed and participate in new installation projects.
  • Remedy unsafe conditions promptly; safety must be the first priority.
  • Communication and Collaboration: develop open communication with operators, supervisors, and managers; be on call as needed.

Maintenance Technician

Department: Woodland Maintenance

Employment Type: Full Time

Compensation: $23.03 - $29.00 / hour

A Maintenance Technician I at Pacific Seafood is a key role on our Maintenance team supporting efforts to repair and upkeep of all buildings, tools, and equipment. This position involves providing preventative maintenance including a safe and sanitary environment to the plant and surrounding grounds and is ideal for someone who is safety conscious, a team player, and can manage their time effectively.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Maintenance and Repair:
    • Assess maintenance and repair problems with follow-up.
    • Perform minor plumbing and electrical work and repair equipment when breakdowns occur to maintain production.
    • Learn set-up, operation, adjustments, and operating parameters of production equipment.
    • Bring production equipment to a good operating standard and improve the work order system and develop a return to service, i.e., production certification.
    • Repair equipment when breakdowns occur to maintain production.
    • Paint any necessary areas, as needed.
    • Work on new installation projects.
    • Remedy any unsafe conditions in a timely manner.
    • Safety must be the first priority.
    • Repair aesthetic defects i.e., seals, hinges, hangers, etc. when production maintenance and breakdowns allow.
  2. Communication and Collaboration:
    • Develop open communication with machine operators, department supervisors, and managers.
    • Be on call, as needed.
    • Perform walk-throughs as assigned to spot possible problems.

Additional responsibilities may be assigned as deemed necessary to support the overall goals and objectives of the position.

Education and Experience
  • Required
    • High school diploma or GED.
    • Minimum two years related experience and/or training.
  • Preferred
    • Prior forklift operation experience.
    • Forklift certification.
