Job summary

Interflex Converting Wilkesboro is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician for night shift to inspect, dismantle, repair and install mechanical parts on our production equipment in Wilkesboro, NC. You will use hand tools, power tools and precision instruments to locate faults and restore performance.

Qualifications include an Associates degree in Mechanical Engineering or 3 years of repair experience, strong math for measurements, good written and verbal skills, and ability to lift 40

Responsibilities

• Inspect parts with calipers and micrometers.
• Adjust functional parts using appropriate tools.
• Repair or replace defective parts and install new components.
• Start devices to test performance and ensure proper operation.
• Lubricate and clean parts; may initiate purchase orders for parts.

Level: Experienced, Job Location: Interflex Converting Wilkesboro - Wilkesboro, NC 28697, Position Type: Full Time, Education Level: 2 Year Degree, Salary Range: $18.05 - $32.37 Hourly, Job Shift: Night, Job Category: Manufacturing, Repairs and maintains in accordance with manufacturer's specifications, machinery and mechanical equipment using hand tools, power tools and precision measuring and testing instruments.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Observe mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.


• Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts, using hoists, cranes, hand tools and power tools.


• Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections.


• Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements using rules, calipers, micrometers and other measuring instruments.


• Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments, using appropriate tools.


• Repairs or replaces defective parts.


• Installs special functional and structural parts in devices.


• Starts devices to test their performance.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lubricates and cleans parts.


• May initiate purchase orders for parts.


• Performs other work related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Strong math skills for accurate measurements.


• Good written, verbal and interpersonal skill required


• Ability to lift forty (40) pounds un-assisted.

EXPERIENCE

• Associates of Art Degree in Mechanical Engineering or:Three years experience repairing and servicing a variety of machinery.
