Job summary

Wescon Controls in Wichita, KS seeks a Maintenance Technician to perform highly diversified duties including building, installing and maintaining equipment, and applying knowledge across skilled trades. Responsibilities span preventative maintenance, repairs, and safety compliance within plant facilities.

The role requires hands‑on experience across plumbing, electrical, carpentry, welding and other trades, plus a solid mechanical aptitude and the ability to use hand and power tools effectively.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or trade school certification.
• Minimum of five years of experience in a maintenance role in an industrial/manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Installs, maintains and repairs machines and equipment in plant and related facilities.
• Performs a variety of preventative maintenance on pumps, motors, hydraulic systems and related plant and facility equipment.
• Performs maintenance requiring knowledge of plumbing, pipefitting, carpentry, electrical, electronics, welding and other trades as appropriate.
• Operates hand and power tools in the maintenance repair and fabrication of parts, machines and equipment.
• Completes work orders and paperwork regarding daily maintenance and repair duties.
• Assists contractors and subcontractors.
• Ensures compliance with operating policies and procedures to maintain a safe environment and efficient operations; may require wearing appropriate safety equipment and gear.
• Assists with maintaining a safe and clean work environment and may perform various janitorial or housekeeping tasks.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

The Maintenance Technician position is responsible for performing highly
diversified duties. Responsibilities may include building, installing
and maintaining equipment, performing preventative maintenance and
repairs and applying knowledge in a variety of skilled trade areas.

• Good knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry and overall
  

general maintenance

• High mechanical ability
• PLC (Programmable Logic Controllers) experience
• At least one year of HVAC experience
• At least one year of Pneumatic experience
• Ability to use hand tools and power tools
• MIG & TIG Welding experience
• Familiarity with Microsoft Word & Excel
• Ability to work in a collaborative environment
• Good troubleshooter
• Excellent verbal/ written communication and customer service skills
• Solid work ethic with a commitment to consistent on-time work

• Master Plumber and/or Master Electrician
