Job summary

Fresh Del Monte Produce Inc. is hiring a maintenance technician in Whitsett, NC to repair and maintain warehouse and production equipment, including pallet jacks, forklifts, and packing machinery.

You will perform plumbing, welding, and general mechanical tasks while supporting production needs on a night shift (9pm–6am). A high school diploma and 3+ years of mechanical maintenance experience are required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years related work experience in mechanical maintenance.
• Valid Driver's License with good driving record.
• Proficient in electrical, plumbing, and general maintenance troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Able to lift 75 lbs and work from rooftops 30 ft high.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine repair and preventive maintenance on warehouse and production equipment.
• Maintain pallet jacks, forklifts, production equipment, and plumbing systems.
• Assist in installation and design of production equipment.
• Handle minor repairs such as electrical and general building tasks.
• Support additional service requests as needed.

Purpose of Position:

This position will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of warehouse and production equipment such as pallet jacks, forklifts, and food packing equipment. In this role, will also perform general plumbing, welding, and other mechanical maintenance services.

Accountabilities:

• Perform routine repair and maintenance work, predictive and preventive inspections.
• Perform routine repair and maintenance work on pallet jacks, forklifts, production equipment and systems, and plumbing.
• Perform installation and design of equipment used in production.
• Perform minor repairs (e.g., plumbing, electrical, and/or general building maintenance, etc.).
• Assist in completing other service requests as needed.

Schedule:

Night shift (9pm - 6am) Monday - Saturday coverage is needed, a 5-day week could be Sunday thru Thursday, or Tuesday thru Saturday, and a 6 - day week when we are busy. Also, possible Sundays for projects.

Minimum Skills Required:

• High School Diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution.
• 3+ years related work experience, in mechanical maintenance.
• Valid Driver's License and excellent driving record.
• Excellent knowledge of electrical, plumbing, general maintenance troubleshooting and repair skills.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs (i.e. Word, Excel, and Outlook).
• Ability to drive a light truck, lift a minimum of 75 lbs., and is able to work from rooftops 30 feet or higher.
• Excellent communication skills (i.e. oral and written).
• Knowledge and experience with controls.
• Must own a set of standard hand tools.
