Job summary

TLCH Foods Inc. in New Jersey is seeking a maintenance technician to support Batchline Solutions equipment and facilities. You will perform basic assembly, work with outside contractors, and ensure proper lubrication and safe operation of complex machinery.

Ideal candidates have mechanical and electrical aptitude, can read drawings, operate a CMMS, and follow GMPs in a refrigerated environment. Flexibility to support production demands is a plus.

Qualifications

• Experience with basic preventive maintenance and repair tasks.
• Ability to read schematics and mechanical drawings.
• Exposure to GMP and food processing environments is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic preventative maintenance on batchline equipment and facilities.
• Assemble, install, dismantle and repair complex equipment as needed.
• Lubricate equipment and manage spare parts inventory.
• Record maintenance work orders and readings in the CMMS system.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and comply with safety and GMP requirements.

Essential ResponsibilitiesPerforms basic preventative maintenance on Batchline Solutions manufacturing support equipment and facilitiesPerforms simple assembly tasksWorks with outside contractors as neededIdentifies replacement/spare parts as neededResponsible for properly lubricating equipmentMust have complete working knowledge of complex equipment, and plant machineryMust have working knowledge of PLC's, Electrical and Mechanical systems.Installs and rearranges complex equipmentDismantles, repairs and reassembles complex equipmentPerforms work in mechanical skills area such as fabrication, assembly, welding, burning, cutting and pipefittingPerforms electrical work such as removing and replacing motors, fuses, cables and installing conduitCompletes routine paperwork such as filling out PM work orders, recording inspection results, logging emergency work orders in the CMMS, recording parts used from inventory stores and recording necessary readings in CMMSComplete work orders in a timely mannerWorks from drawings, verbal instructions or sketchesMaintain plant GMPs in area of responsibilityMust be committed to company safety goals and work in a safe and professional manner.Must ensure compliance with all company and FDA, USDA and SQF requirements.Cleans and maintains a clean work area both in shop and floorOperates production equipment to check work as requiredKeep skills current through training and educationComplete training as assigned.Must follow Batchline Solutions policies and proceduresOther duties as assignedRequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalent preferred.1-3 years production manufacturing experience preferred.Must be flexible to accomplish the necessary tasks.Work additional time on a daily or weekly basis if necessary.Scheduled work days and hours may be altered depending on job demands.Able to perform in a fast paced and team-oriented environment and ability to adapt in a changing work environment.Ability to work in a refrigerated environment (-9º-42º Fahrenheit) for 8 or more hours.Mechanical aptitude and ability and use lock-out tag-out.Occasional Forklift and man lift useStrong communication and organizational skillsBasic computer knowledgeFood safety knowledge a plusBasic welding, Pneumatic systems and plumbing skills.Ability to work with powered shops and hand tools safely.Can follow and retain instruction and ability to perform simple assembly instructionCan read, write and speak English.
