Job summary

AKA Hotel West Palm Beach is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support the Engineer Manager and uphold AKA's standards across the property.

You will perform preventative maintenance, check electrical systems, service guest rooms, and maintain exterior curb appeal while working a flexible schedule including nights and weekends. This on-site role requires attention to detail and a service-oriented approach to guests and team members.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in English (written and oral).
• Proven strong background in Maintenance and/or Room Operations.
• General Maintenance Skills: plumbing, electric, carpentry, and appliance repairs.
• Ability to troubleshoot internet enabled areas and devices.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preventative maintenance and complete work orders (ceiling tiles, bulbs, vinyl).
• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance tasks.
• Check electrical systems and make minor repairs.
• Inspect and repair hotel equipment (appliances, kitchen, laundry, boilers, pool, HVAC).
• Maintain exterior and curb appeal of the property.
• Refurbish furniture and fixtures in guest rooms.
• Perform other duties as needed.

Job description

POSITION: Maintenance Technician

REPORTS TO: Engineer Manager

TEAM MEMBER REQUIREMENTS:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist with preventative maintenance and complete report work orders such as replacing ceiling tiles, light bulbs, patching vinyl, etc., to maintain the hotel and keep the product quality standard.


• Perform preventative maintenance assignments on a scheduled basis.


• Assist in checking electrical systems such as air conditioning controls, television sets, lighting systems and make minor repairs and/or replacement.


• Assist in checking and making routine repairs and assist on major repairs of all hotel equipment including small appliances, kitchen equipment, laundry equipment, boilers, pool equipment, and HVAC.


• Maintain the building exterior and “curb appeal”.


• Refurbish furniture and fixtures within guest rooms such as cabinets, tables, chairs, doors windows and counters. Paint and finish furniture and fixtures if needed.


• Perform other duties as needed.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school degree or equivalent.


• Minimum of one to two years of maintenance experience.


• Ability to be flexible with work schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.


• Meticulous attention to detail.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs.


• Able to push/pull up to 50 pounds as needed.


• Sits, stands, bends, stretches, lifts items and moves intermittently during working hours.


• Able to work with chemicals.
