Job summary

PPG US Industrial Facilities in Wallingford, CT is seeking a Maintenance Technician to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair production and facility equipment to support safe and efficient operations.

This full-time, on-site role requires lifting 50 lb, basic electrical and mechanical skills, reading blueprints and wiring schematics, CMS experience, and basic computer skills. Swing shifts and first-shift training are provided to ensure a smooth transition and solid coverage.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift 50 lb consistently.
• Must be able to work overtime as necessary.
• Basic electrical and mechanical experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Basic skills in manual machining, operating a lathe, knee mill and surface grinders.
• Capable of reading blueprints and simple wiring schematics.
• Some experience in CMS (Computerized Maintenance Systems).
• Basic computer skills.
• Respond to service requests professionally and work alone or as a team member.
• Excellent time management with shifting priorities.

Responsibilities

• Determining and performing required maintenance (cleaning, lubricating, aligning/adjusting parts, calibrating, etc.).
• Performing preventive maintenance, diagnosing mechanical and basic electrical issues.
• Testing, troubleshooting, and repairing machines and equipment and ordering/installing replacement parts.
• Evaluates and recommends equipment improvements to improve availability, capability and yield.
• Performs equipment failure analysis (including preventive and unscheduled maintenance).
• Troubleshoots and diagnoses equipment problems.
• Prepare technical reports to document equipment modifications and maintenance procedures.
• Participate in continuous improvement activities and support upgrades or installations of new equipment as needed.

Maintenance Technician, Wallingford, CTPay: $27.00 - $28.50 based on experience and skill. Increase in pay after 45 days.Swing Shift: 10:00 am - 6:00 pm, or 11:00 am - 7:00 pm.
