Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and control system issues on process and packaging equipment.
  • Perform electrical troubleshooting on AC/DC systems including 24VDC control circuits and 480V 3-phase systems.
  • Read and interpret schematics, ladder logic, and mechanical drawings; execute preventive and predictive maintenance.
  • Support equipment startups, stabilize equipment, and train operators in basic autonomous maintenance.
  • Identify root causes and participate in breakdown analysis and continuous improvement; document work in CMMS (SAP Plant Maintenance).

Shift: 8 hour rotation; 8 hour rotation schedule is a 4 week rotation where you will work 3 different shifts within 4 weeks. The 3 different shifts you will rotate are Midnights 11pm - 7:30am, Afternoons 3pm - 11:30pm, and Days 7am - 3:30pm

Position Overview

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving process and packaging equipment in a high-speed manufacturing environment. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on electrical troubleshooting capability, including both DC systems and AC power systems up to 480V 3-phase.

Technicians are expected to operate with minimal supervision, prioritize uptime, and execute work safely while supporting continuous improvement and operational reliability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and control system issues on process and packaging equipment.
  • Perform electrical troubleshooting on AC/DC systems, including:
    • 24VDC control circuits
    • Sensors, relays, and motor controls
    • VFDs, starters, and power distribution
    • 480V 3-phase systems (safe troubleshooting and verification)
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, ladder logic, and mechanical drawings.
  • Execute Preventive (PM) and Predictive Maintenance (PdM) activities with high precision and ownership.
  • Support equipment startups, and operational troubleshooting to minimize downtime.
  • Partner with Operations to stabilize equipment and train operators in basic autonomous maintenance tasks.
  • Identify root causes of failures and participate in breakdown analysis (BDA) and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of all work performed using CMMS (SAP Plant Maintenance or equivalent).
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Core Competencies
  • Mechanical systems (drives, conveyors, bearings, alignment, etc.)
  • Pneumatics and basic hydraulics
  • Electrical systems (AC/DC troubleshooting up to 480V)
  • PLC troubleshooting (I/O level, fault identification, basic logic understanding)
  • Instrumentation and sensors
  • Basic machining and fabrication (preferred)
Minimum Qualifications
  • 18 years of age or older
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Proven experience troubleshooting industrial equipment in a manufacturing environment
  • Working knowledge of electrical systems including 24VDC controls and 480VAC 3-phase power
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and as a team
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate's degree in Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, or related field
  • Technical certifications (electrical, mechanical, or instrumentation)
  • Experience with PLC systems and industrial automation
  • Experience with high-speed packaging equipment
  • Welding, fabrication, or machining experience
