Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic (Day shift!)
Location: Lancaster, TX
Shifts: Sunday - Thursday, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm (Days)
Job Description
Objective: Contribute to the manufacturing environment by completing preventative maintenance, participating in projects to increase equipment efficiency, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues on production lines, including conveyors and packaging equipment. Collaborate with operators and management to develop and implement process improvements.
Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance to ensure equipment efficiency.
- Utilize Computer Maintenance Management Systems (SAP preferred).
- Disassemble and reassemble equipment for installation and repairs.
- Assist operators with mechanical and electrical tasks to keep production lines operational.
- Service and maintain motors, conveying systems, transmission systems, and related equipment.
- Use human machine interfaces to monitor equipment operation.
- Convert production lines to produce various products with different sizes and materials.
- Troubleshoot and maintain glue and adhesive systems on packaging equipment.
- Diagnose and repair photo eyes, sensors, and pressure switches.
- Wire circuits ranging from 120V to 480V (single and three-phase).
- Familiarity with boiler operations and industrial maintenance tools.
- Support continuous production on the Food Service line.
- Lubricate machinery appropriately.
- Replace drive belts, timing belts, and perform similar maintenance tasks.
- Proactively identify potential problems to prevent hazards or downtime.
- Maintain water towers and test water quality.
- Operate and maintain air compressors, including changing filters and oils.
- Replace gaskets and packing in pumps.
- Manage roof heaters and air conditioning units.
- Identify and replace bearings and seals as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- At least 2 years of experience in troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of processing, packaging, and material handling equipment, preferably in a food manufacturing environment.
- Trade school certificate or equivalent experience related to a trade or facilities maintenance.
- Ability to work cooperatively within a team.
- Physical ability to lift 25-50 lbs.
