Job summary

KENT Nutrition Group, Inc. is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician for our Arcade, NY plant. You will maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and service plant equipment and systems to support safe, efficient operations.

Qualifications

• OSHA safety requirements knowledge.
• Good communication skills.
• Understanding of feed manufacturing and willingness to learn and grow.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Understanding of feed mill equipment and layout.
• Thorough understanding of cGMPs.
• Knowledge of HACCP Feed & Food Safety Plan.
• Knowledge of FSMA.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 55 lbs from floor to working height.
• Pass pre-employment drug screen.
• Ability to work in dust and adverse weather conditions and temperatures.

Responsibilities

• Report factors influencing quality and safety of finished feed to supervisor.
• Install circuit breakers, starters, panels, conduit and make hook-ups with minimal supervision.
• Report to Maintenance Manager.
• Repair all mill equipment with little supervision.
• Troubleshoot electrical equipment up to 480 volts.
• Read blueprints, drawings, and schematics.
• Train less experienced electricians.
• Fill on-call shifts during non-regular hours.
• Follow all guidelines and policies and regulatory requirements.
• Attend seminars to improve skills.

Job description

KENT Nutrition Group, Inc., a member of the KENT WORLDWIDE family of companies, is seeking a skilled and dependable Maintenance Technician to join our team at our Arcade, NY plant. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and servicing plant equipment and facility systems to support safe, efficient, and reliable operations.

Working as part of our maintenance team, you will help minimize equipment downtime, perform preventative maintenance, and contribute to continuous improvement efforts throughout the facility. PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSBILITIES:

• Report any factors that may influence the quality and safety of the finished feed and ingredients to the immediate supervisor
• Can install circuit breakers, starters, panels, run conduit and make hook-ups with little or no supervision
• Reporting Responsibilities - Reports to the Maintenance Manager
• Know and be able to repair all mill equipment with little or no supervision
• Can trouble shoot all electrical equipment in plant and repair same, up to and including 480 volts
• Thorough knowledge of all electrical supply circuits
• Have good welding skills and good proficiency with an oxygen acetylene torch
• Do both installation and repair of normal pipe run
• Able to read and work with blueprints, drawings sketches and schematics
• Have a complete and thorough knowledge of all mill flows, processes, and equipment, all electrical systems, all parts inventories and sources
• Be able to train less experienced electricians
• Fill on call positions as assigned, during non-regular business hours
• Follow all KNG Guidelines and requirements of plant and company policies, all regulatory and certifying agencies
• Attend seminars and correspondence courses whenever possible to improve skill levels
• Be physically able to perform all tasks required, but no limited to climbing, lifting and carrying weights of 55 lbs or more
• Observe safe practices at all times
• All other duties as assigned

STARTING WAGE:

• $22.00 - $23.00 an hour
