Job summary

Recover-Care is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform a range of standard maintenance and repair tasks on center grounds and facilities, ensuring safety and reliability. The role requires basic knowledge of wiring, plumbing, and carpentry, good organizational skills, and the ability to interact positively with staff, patients and families in a compassionate environment.

On-call duties may apply, with supervision as needed.

Qualifications

• High school degree or equivalent and basic knowledge of wiring, plumbing and carpentry.
• Able to read, write, speak and understand English to ensure safety and wellbeing of patients and visitors.
• Must provide verification of TST as required by state law.

Responsibilities

• Works closely with and follows directions from the maintenance director/supervisor.
• Maintains building and grounds in a clean, safe and orderly condition.
• Maintains and repairs basic functions of the center as determined by the maintenance director/supervisor.
• Takes care of the tools and equipment.
• Makes minor repairs on handrails, windows, flooring, walls, ceilings, beds, wheelchairs, geri-chairs, electrical equipment, sprinkling systems, generators, emergency lighting, fire alarms and extinguishers, changes filters on HVAC equipment, carries, lifts and stocks supplies.
• Remains on call, when assigned, for 24 hours a day.
• Assumes supervisor’s responsibilities in his/her absence.
• Puts Customer Service First: Ensures that customers and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere which recognizes the individuals’ needs and rights.
• Performs other duties as requested.

SPECIFIC EDUCATIONAL/VOCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• High school degree or equivalent and basic knowledge of wiring, plumbing and carpentry.
• This position requires that the employee is able to read, write, speak and understand the spoken English language to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our patients and visitors at the work site when responding to their medical and physical needs.
• Must provide verification of TST (tuberculin skin test) as required by state law and in accordance with Company policy. TSTs will be administered at the work site if required.
