Job description

Job Description:

We are looking for a skilled, hands-on Maintenance Technician who will play a critical role in keeping our high-volume injection molding operation running at peak efficiency. You will perform both preventive and corrective maintenance on injection molding machines (80T–1500T range), ancillary equipment (chillers, air compressors, dryers, conveyors, grinders), and general facility systems.

This is not an entry-level role — you must bring solid experience in fluid power systems (hydraulics & pneumatics), advanced electrical troubleshooting, and pneumatic controls. Your work directly impacts downtime, scrap rates, and overall plant performance. If you take pride in diagnosing and fixing complex equipment quickly and correctly, this is a terrific opportunity to join a stable, growing plastics manufacturer. *THIS POSITION IS FOR NIGHT SHIFT (7PM-7:30AM) on a 2-2-3 work schedule.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and resolve repetitive machine issues to eliminate production disruptions and reduce downtime.
  • Perform machine adjustments, process tuning, mold changes, and start-up of injection molding presses as needed.
  • Execute high-quality preventive and corrective maintenance on all production equipment, with strong focus on:
    • Fluid power systems (hydraulic pumps, valves, cylinders, accumulators, hoses, and reservoirs)
    • Advanced electrical systems (motors, VFDs, sensors, wiring, control panels, and safety circuits)
    • Pneumatic controls (valves, actuators, air logic, regulators, and complete pneumatic circuits)
  • Install, repair, and maintain mechanical, plumbing, electrical equipment, and conduits throughout the facility.
  • Read and interpret electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals to troubleshoot efficiently.
  • Perform general facility maintenance, repairs, and installations (lighting, compressed air lines, plumbing, etc.).
  • Keep work areas and equipment clean, organized, and in safe operating condition.
  • Provide clear hand-off communication to the incoming shift and escape key issues to the Maintenance Lead and Production Manager.
  • Work closely with the production team to support OEE goals and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Complete all assigned tasks and other duties as required.
Qualifications & Experience (Required)
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum 2 years of industrial maintenance experience (plastics or injection molding environment strongly preferred)
  • Demonstrated proficiency in :
    • Fluid power (hydraulics & pneumatics) troubleshooting, component replacement, and system adjustments
    • Advanced electrical troubleshooting (480V, 240V, 120V, 24V DC, controls, and instrumentation)
    • Pneumatic control systems (circuit design, valve banks, actuators, and air logic)
  • Ability to read and work from electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
  • Basic math skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy items (50+ lbs. regularly), and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Reliable team player with good verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Technical degree or certificate in Industrial Maintenance, Fluid Power, Electrical Technology, or related field
  • Experience with Wittmann robots or similar automation
  • Basic PLC troubleshooting (Allen-Bradley, Beckoff or Siemens)
  • Prior work on injection molding presses (80–1500 ton)
  • Forklift or overhead crane certification.
What We Offer
  • Competitive hourly pay based on experience.
  • Stable night shift schedules (depending on current openings)
  • Clean, modern production facility
  • Opportunity to grow within a well-established manufacturer.
