Job summary

Warn Industries in Lancaster, SC seeks an experienced Maintenance Technician to maintain and repair equipment on the manufacturing floor. You will troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems, perform preventive maintenance, and assist with TPM projects.

Forklift certification and basic welding/machining skills are valued. Under direct supervision, you will ensure safety, quality, and reliability of facilities, equipment, and processes, working a 40-hour week with some overtime as needed.

Qualifications

The Warn Group is looking for an experienced Maintenance Technician for the Maintenance team at our Lancaster, SC facility. Under direct supervision of the Maintenance Manager, the maintenance technician will perform preventative maintenance on all equipment and machinery on the manufacturing floor.

Our Maintenance team is integral at ensuring our production floor runs without issues, we need skilled team members who can perform routine repair, modification, and preventive maintenance tasks on the building, facilities, equipment fixtures, and systems. The right team member will be able to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain facility plumbing, mechanical and electrical systems.

Essential Functions:

• Preventative maintenance and troubleshooting electrical breakdowns facility wide, as needed. Assembles and installs electrical, mechanical and electro-mechanical equipment and systems in a project environment. Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues on machinery, and TPM projects.
• Required prompt and regular attendance as scheduled Actively implements Quality Policy and Procedures in all aspects of daily duties and responsibilities.
• May also assist in hazardous materials programs.
• Perform welding and limited machining operations incidental to repair and maintenance tasks.
• Performs basic troubleshooting and root-cause analysis of equipment failures.
• Reviews service requests for repairs and maintenance determines nature of problem and recommends appropriate solution.
• Work safely and without injury.
• Use electrical tools, equipment and understand meters, in addition to a variety of hand tools, power tools and other machines to perform job duties. Basic knowledge of computer maintenance software.
• Participates in team meetings as required (safety, problem-solving, etc.)
• Ability to understand control systems and manufacturing machinery.
• Ability to identify root causes and recommend improvements if needed.
• Perform basic troubleshooting on Laser, Press brake and CNC machine tools and may be asked to troubleshoot to higher levels if needed.
• Positively engaged with engineering when asked to assist with automation projects.
• Create a culture of respect, accountability, and fun.

Availability Requirements:

• Due to the nature and scope of the essential functions of this position, the importance of personal interactions with coworkers, and the availability of job-related tools, equipment and resources at work, performance of the essential functions requires regular, consistent availability, accessibility, and presence on-site.
• Approximately 40 hours/week may be required to efficiently perform the job duties of this position, including presence at designated internal meetings. Overtime is on an as-needed basis with increased hours during projects.

Required Education and/or Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Two or more years of Maintenance Technician experience preferred.
• Forklift certification is required, we will provide onsite training and certification.
• OSHA certification preferred.

Required Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities:

• Must be able to use electrical tools and have a basic understanding of electrical meters and electrical theory.
• Ability to troubleshoot machinery to a basic level as well as to troubleshoot to the component level if needed.
• The ability to run and bend conduit and size circuitry is preferred.
• Must be able to perform preventative maintenance tasks and identify potential issues with machinery and equipment.
• Ability to positively interact professionally with other employees.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work collaboratively and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, customers, and visitors.

Lift, transport and/or move a specified amount of weight frequently each day in the performance of regular duties as outlined below with respect to each assembly area. Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing, and descending a ladder may also be required.
• Individual must be able to work at heights. Must be able to lift 35lbs unassisted, and occasionally up to 100lbs with assistance.

Ability to read, write, verbalize and comprehend instructions and correspondence at the highest levels in the English language. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations to customers, clients, and other team members. Advanced conflict resolution skills. Excellent interpersonal skills.

Mathematical Skills:

Must have mathematical skills equivalent to those required under degree requirements. Higher skills may be required depending on actual job duties.
