Job summary

84 Lumber Company in Smyrna, TN is looking for a Maintenance Technician to maintain the equipment and physical plant of their manufacturing facility. Under direct supervision, you will perform scheduled maintenance, train operators, and ensure safety and quality standards are upheld.

The ideal candidate should have a high school diploma or GED and be familiar with electrical, hydraulic, and welding applications. This full-time position requires standing for long periods and lifting up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or general education degree (GED); or 1 to 3 months of related experience and/or training.
• Working knowledge of electrical, hydraulic and welding applications.
• Ability to read and write in their primary language.

Responsibilities

• Perform regularly scheduled maintenance of all equipment/machinery.
• Maintain equipment/machinery within tolerance of quality standards.

Under direct supervision of Plant Manager, maintain the equipment and physical plant of 84 Lumber Components manufacturing facility in good working order and repair.

Essential Functions

• Perform regularly scheduled maintenance of all equipment/machinery.
• Maintain equipment/machinery within tolerance of quality standards.
• Train operators on correct operating and maintenance procedures.
• Audit daily checks.
• Maintain safe work/machine environment.

Required Skills

• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions. Short correspondence and memos. Write simple correspondence. Effectively present information to others one‑on‑one.
• Able to read and write in their primary language.
• Able to stand for long periods of time.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodations.

Education/Experience

• High School diploma or general education degree (GED); or 1 to 3 months related experience and/or training
• Working Knowledge of electrical, hydraulic and welding applications.

Shift

• 2nd shift 4:00 pm-12:30 am
• Training for 30 days on 1st shift – 5:30 am to 2:30 pm
• Split shift for 30 days 12:00 pm to 8:30 pm, then it goes to 2nd shift
