Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years of general, residential, hotel, apartment, or vacation rental maintenance experience.
• Excellent communication skills, written and spoken.

• Self-motivated, proactive, takes the initiative, with strong follow-up skills.
• Knowledge of electrical and plumbing codes and maintenance requirements; OSHA worksite and personal safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure building systems operate efficiently and physical condition remains sound.
• Perform carpentry, painting, plumbing and electrical repairs to maintain the building.
• Clean and repair fixtures including lights, locks, windows, doors, screens, walls, floors, gutters and drains.
• Operate and perform routine maintenance and repairs on systems and equipment as needed.
• Maintain company issued vehicle (routine PM's, oil changes, etc.), if applicable.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Description

Amtek Engineering, an Associa company, is hiring a full time Maintenance Technician for its condominium community in Silver Spring, MD.

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the maintenance duties of Associations involving mostly exterior carpentry, painting, plumbing repairs, electrical repairs and minor roofing repairs in addition to other exterior responsibilities to guarantee that the communities we manage are properly and safely maintained.

Daily responsibilities:

• Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that building systems operate efficiently and that the physical condition of buildings do not deteriorate.
• Perform maintenance tasks such as carpentry, painting, plumbing and electrical repairs to ensure that the building is properly maintained.
• Clean and repair building fixtures including lights, locks, windows, doors, screens, walls, floors, gutters and drains.
• Operate and perform routine maintenance and repairs on systems & equipment as needed.
• Maintain company issued vehicle (routine PM's, oil changes etc.), if applicable.
• Other duties as assigned.

Hourly pay rate: $27-$30.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED Required.
• 2+ years of general, residential, hotel, apartment, vacation rental maintenance experience.
• Excellent communication skills, written and spoken.

• Self-motivated, proactive, takes the initiative, with strong follow-up skills.
• Knowledge of electrical and plumbing codes and maintenance requirements, (documentation, safety, required reporting, regulations, etc.); OSHA worksite and personal safety requirements and State or local governmental safety requirements.
• Time management and time critical prioritization skills.

Valid driver's license is required.
